ART 2.WORK REQUIREMENTS Dy Section IV. Employer's Requirement Maynilad 15. The digester shall be equipped with an outflow device designed to maintain a gas seal under the cover and prevent gas loss. 16, The operating level of digesters shall be designed with appropriate freeboard and overflow or automatic shutdown devices to prevent accidental spillage of effluent or discharge into the gas collection system, 17. The following applies to Aerobic Digestion Process: a. An Aerobic digester sholl be provided to treat the thickened sludge. The aerobic digester shall be designed such that odours are minimized; sufficient sludge volume reduction is achieved and to improve overall sludge dewaterability performance. bb. The design shall be based on 20 days solids retention time unless otherwise agreed with Employer ©. Sufficient retention time shall be provided to achieve the desired reduction in sludge volume. d. The digester tank shall be designed such that the necessary degree of sludge stabilization can be achieved at the lowest expected liquid operating temperature. fe. The digester lank shall be designed suct thal heat loss are minimized. Placing, the tanks belaw grade shall be considered. Appropriate insulation shall he provided for Lanks placed above grade. f. Digester tanks shall be made of concrete or any corrosion resistant material. . A complete aeration system shall be provided to meet the maximum oxygen requirements at the maximum expected liquid operating temperature. h. The design of eration systems, shall include all pipe works, valves, and headers for the pracess aeration and mixing requirements. Sufficient mixing shall be provided to keep the biomass in suspension without over aeration. Where applicable, separate aeration and mixing mechanisms shall be provided to prevent over aeration and minimize energy usage. The aeration system shall be designed to provide sufficient oxygen to cater for the design average and peak loading conditions while maintaining a minimum of 1 mg/L dissolved oxygen concentration. k. The aeration system to be provided shall be designed such that regulation of air for each digester tanks to be provided is fully automatic and independent of each other. Each basin should have the capability to regulate and maintain the required oxygen demand asa stand - alone system. |. Sufficient air supply shall be provided to keep the solids in suspension and ‘maintain the dissolved oxygen between 1 to 2 mg/L. Minimum mixing and oxygen requirements of 0.50 L of air /m*-s of tank volume. Air blower shall be provided with 100% standby unit. PART 2.WORK REQUIREMENTS D Section IV. Employer's Requirement Maynilad 'm, Dissolved oxygen, pH and level transmitters shall be provided for process control and monitoring as a minimum. 1. Aminimum of 35% volatile solids reduction shall be achieved. 6, Blowers shall he centrifugal blowers. VEN shall be pravided and designed to ‘maximize operational energy efficiency. Stand ~ by units shall be appropriately provided. - The digester tank and internal components shall be designed to facilitate Pumping to the sludge dewatering system. The sludge pump(s} shall be of the heavy duty progressing cavity type. Sufficient duty and standby pumps shall be provided. 4. The sludge piping system shall comply with the requirements specified in this, document. Sampling ports shall be provided at the discharge side to the sludge transfer pumps. 2412.6 Sludge Dewatering 1, Belt filter press and / or centrifuges can be considered for the sludge dewatering. 2. The minimum number of units shall be referred to Table 18. 3. Typical digested sludge concentrations: 4% to 6% dry solids. 24.12.6.1 Performance Requirements, 1. Dewatered sludge shall be no less than 20% dry solid content. 2. Minimum solids capture rate of 95%. 3. Odour control shall be provided. 4, Dewatering equipment shall be operated automatically and capable of dewater sludge (on 16 hours a day and 7 days a week schedule. 5, Conveyance of dewatered sludge lo appropriate storage shall be provided. 24.12.6.2 Specific Requirements 1. Dedicated polymer dosing system shall be provided per equipment. 2. Dewatering centrale shall be diverted back tu Ue eadworks via inet equalization / separate balancing tank. Where specified, the dewatering centrate shall be diverted to a sidestream treatment prior to returning 3. The capacity of each unit shall he such that when one is taken aut service for inypection and maintenance, the capacity will nol be reduced, 4. Filtrate/centrate flow and solids monitoring shall also be provided such that solid loading to return to the treatment plant can be calculated. In case sludge to be dewatered is digested anaerobically, NHd and Phosphate online monitoring shall also be provided for the filtrate/centrate stream. co wren, YY marian warns come al Poa.
