Batch Reactor
 Used for most of the reactions carried out in a laboratory. The reactants
are placed in a test-tube, flask or beaker. They are mixed together, often
heated for the reaction to take place and are then cooled. The products
are poured out and, if necessary, purified.

2. Semi-batch Reactor
 Operate much like batch reactors in that they take place in a single
stirred tank with similar equipment. However, they are modified to allow
reactant addition and/or product removal in time.

3. Moving-bed Reactor
 catalytic reactors in which the catalyst moves through the reactor along
with the reactants. They are open systems and operate at steady state.

4. Distillation Reactor
 Separation of the product from the reaction mixture does not need a
separate distillation step, which saves energy (for heating) and materials.

5. Bubbling Column Reactor

 an apparatus used to generate and control gas-liquid chemical reactions.
It consists of a vertically-arranged cylindrical column filled with liquid, at
the bottom of which gas is inserted.
