Safer Internet Day
Following my article about Safer
Internet day last week, we have
had a member of Cheshire Police
visit the children this week to give children’s hair in the coming
the children age-appropriate
information about how they can
stay safe online. I hope the
children will use this information
to help them make informed
choices.
In an assembly on Monday, I
asked the children if they know
what to do if they saw something
they were unhappy about online –
I was really pleased that the vast
majority of the children put up
their hand.
Community News
St John’s Church is holding a Spring have noticed improvements that
Fair in the Church Hall (opposite
school on Weaverham Road) on

Saturday 2 March from 11.00am
until 2.00pm – all are welcome.
Sports Events
We continue to participate in
sports competitions and doing
rather well! Last week we finished
in overall second place in Netball, parents and staff to help with
losing just one game. Yesterday we events that they organise for the
came third place in the Vale Royal
Sportshall Athletics competition.
Well done to all the children and
thank you to the staff for preparing this year, we will also be asking for 19 Jul
them so well.
School Texting Service
We hope that you continue to find
emailing and texting from school a
useful means to stay connected to
school. If you need to respond to
texts, please do so by emailing the
school office or by speaking to a
member of the team directly.
Whilst replies can be sent, these
are not routinely checked.

Head Lice
We have a few reported cases in
school. I would be very grateful if
all parents can check their
holiday. There are a number of
ways in which head lice can be
treated (I would recommend
searching the NHS website for all
the information). If you don’t like
using chemicals on your hair or
find them too expensive, using
conditioner and a comb is effective
at spotting and removing the lice
and eggs. It’s not the nicest job,
but it will help the children feel
more comfortable.
Smallworld
Regular users of Smallworld may
have been made to the outdoor
provision for the pre-school. As a
school, we were happy to support
this work taking place as it
enhances the environment for
both Smallworld and our school.
PTA
The PTA continue to ask for
children and school. If you are
interested, please contact me and I
can pass on your details. Later on
any parents who would like to take
on additional roles within the PTA
Committee. I ask that you can
seriously consider this as a way of
helping me with all the extra
events that the school has.
Happy Half term Holiday
We now approach the middle of
this school year and I can’t believe
how quickly it has passed. We
hope you have a lovely half term
break and we look forward to
seeing the children back at school
on Monday 25th February.
