Creating and Submitting a Video

Each student must create and submit their own video for skills and assessments requiring validation in
this course. Students will create one video containing skills, and one video containing assessments, per
unit. The required skills and assessments for each video, along with the maximum amount of time
allowed for each video, is as follows:

Oral Medication Administration
Nasogastric Tube Medication Admin istration
Sterile Gloving (Asepsis) 20 minutes
Parenteral Medication Administration:
Intramuscular, Subcutaneous, and Intradermal
Unit 2:
Inserting an Intravenous Catheter (IV)
IV Medication Administration: IV Push Medication 20 minutes
Administration and IV Secondary/Piggyback
Medication Administration
Foley Catheter Insertion
Unit 3:
Tracheostomy Suctioning 5 minutes

Unit 4:
Second validations of skills will be done, if necessary

Unit 1:
Skin, Hair, and Nails 10 minutes
Musculoskeletal
Unit 2:
Head, Face, and Neck, Including Regional
Lymphatics 15 minutes
Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, and Throat
Abdominal
Unit 3:
Respiratory 15 minutes
Neurological
Unit 4:
Heart and Neck Vessels
Peripheral Vascular System and Lymphatic System 10 minutes

Second validations of assessments will be done, if


necessary
Videos created for N383 must be done in the lab or area designated by faculty. Mannequins and other
necessary supplies will be available as needed for skills videos. Students will also be required to use the
lab kits received at the beginning of the course. Assessment videos created for N383 will entail
assessments of specific body systems. Students should use a classmate as their “patient” when creating
assessment videos. Students should be sure to maintain privacy of their classmates as they would in the
clinical setting.
