Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?
The two school planning days took place at Stockbridge Elementary. Teachers were surveyed during the school year to gain an understanding of specific
technology tools desired to learn and use during the fall of 2018. During the two planning days video tutorials were created for kindergarten through third
grade teachers on how to effectively integrate the tools into literacy instruction. The tech tool video tutorials were all uploaded onto the school website for
future this upcoming school year. As a result of planning and curating resources I learned a lot about effectively creating a needs assessment inventory and
collaborating with faculty to create meaningful content for technology integration. The experience has helped to effectively create meaningful content for
teachers to implement with the content. Not only did I have to understand how to use various tech tools but also have a clear understanding of Georgia
Standards of Excellence to provide examples of how the tools can be used within the classroom. As a technology coach, I learned that it’s important to
understand the needs of the adult learners before modeling and scaffolding material to show technology and content best practices.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)
Knowledge –(PSC 2.1, 2.2) In order to model and facilitate the use of researched based practices for teachers, I had to understand how the Georgia
standards of Excellence can be utilized and implemented with the different tools across grades Kindergarten through third grade. In order to effectively plan
and create technology best practices videos it was necessary to have an understanding of the school’s vison and goals within the school continuous
achievement plan.
Skills (PSC 2.2, 5.2) – Planning and preparation were needed to complete the tool video tutorials. All of the desired tools were pre-selected from classroom
teachers and staff members. A clear understanding of how to effectively integrate the tools within content areas was very important. Discussing how the
tools align to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and integration within lessons is also key. At the beginning of the school year teachers will have several
video tech tool tutorials to view to enhance their technology tool box.

Dispositions – (PSC 5.2)- In order to make the best use of time my energy and disposition were very important to complete the video tutorials for all grade
levels for future professional learning for faculty and staff. Also, making the video tech tool tutorials helps promote best practice use of the tech tools in the
future. In addition, it was very important to create engaging and informative tutorials to keep faculty engaged once they view the material.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
This field experience was created during the summer therefore the direct impact on student learning will be measured in the future. However, I know the
tech tool video tutorials will directly impact student learning due to the fact that all teachers will be required to view the tutorials within the first semester.
The teachers will have the opportunity to increase student engagement and learning with technology integration. The teachers level of understanding of how
to use different technology tools within the content areas will increase. The teachers level of understanding of different technology tools will be assessed
with a brief survey after each video technology tutorial.
