The  Major  Pentatonic  Scale  
 
Just  like  the  minor  pentatonic  scale,  the  major  pentatonic  scale  is  used  to  improvise  and  
create  melodies.  Half  steps  are  eliminated  to  create  the  major  pentatonic  scale,  so  the  
scale  degrees  included  in  the  major  pentatonic  scale  are:

For  example,  the  G  Major  Scale  and  the  G  Major  Pentatonic  scale  are  below:

Writing  Chord  Charts  
 
 
Chords  charts  are  used  in  a  variety  of  musical  settings  and  include  the  following:  
 
• Key  signature  
• Time  signature  
• Tempo  
• Song  Form  
• Melody  
• Chords

Chord  charts  should  be  written  on  manuscript  or  staff  paper.  It  may  also  be  helpful  to  
write  in  pencil  so  if  you  make  a  mistake,  you  can  erase  it  and  change  it.  Below  are  a  few  
easy  steps  to  create  a  chord  chart:  
 
1. Divide  your  staves  into  measures  by  adding  bar  lines:
