To Whom It May Concern,

 
I am writing this letter to let you know about Victoria Wiegand’s excellent performance 
as an Oakland University pre-student teacher this fall, in my fifth grade classroom at 
Martell Elementary. She spent fourteen weeks (one morning per week) in my classroom 
working with my students in various subject areas.   
 
Miss Wiegand is a very well organized person. She communicated any lessons or 
activities that she needed to implement well in advance. Miss Wiegand shared her 
teaching plan but was open to my suggestions if I had any to offer. She was extremely 
patient and caring towards every student in my classroom. She was always on time, 
professionally dressed and came in on additional days to participate in extra activities. 
Miss Wiegand designed and implemented multiple reading lessons. One lesson 
incorporated a “role play” opportunity for students to help understand characters in the 
book ​Wonder​. Another lesson had history skills included as well as teaching theme of a 
story. Students connected this identified theme to their own life in a text-to-self 
connection. Also, she interacted well with the other fifth grade teachers in the building 
and aides that were in my classroom.  
 
Miss Wiegand seems motivated to teach and shows a strong interest in helping children. I 
truly enjoyed working with Miss Wiegand, as did my students. Miss Wiegand always 
knew what she could do to assist me in the classroom. For example, if she saw a student 
struggling with a math assignment she would offer the student help with out me having to 
ask her to do so. This was very helpful to me as I could continue with my small reading 
groups. I think she is on her way to becoming an excellent teacher. If I can be of any
