“From the ongoing war in Iraq, to the slowdown in the American economy, to the campaign to succeed
George Bush, 2007 was a significant year for major news stories,” said Bill Small, Chairman of the News &
Documentary Emmy® Awards. “This year’s nominees show that the field of broadcast journalism is as vital
as ever, and we congratulate them for their outstanding work.”
“The journalists and documentary filmmakers nominated this year have accomplished the daunting task of
helping viewers understand some of the most compelling issues of our time,” said Peter Price, President and
CEO of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. “We salute them for their efforts.”
