Below is a list of things to remember during your time at the Hays County Government Center
DON’TS
• No swearing. • No Laughing during the proceeding, as this is a serious matter. • No chewing gum. • No food/ drinks or gum in the Courtroom. • No hats. • You will have to go through security at the Courthouse. No knives, weapons, or sharp objects.
DO’s • Dress in business casual o Girls can wear slacks, a nice dress or skirt, nice shoes. Remember dressing professional means keeping yourself covered (no cleavage or short skirts). o Boys can wear either slacks or khaki colored pants with a collared shirt or dress shirt. Please remember to shave. • You will receive your event t-shirt at the end of the day. • Be Respectful; you will be around esteemed Judges and Court Officials – Act like it. • Keep your cell phone completely off while in the Courtroom; you will have breaks where you may use it. • Have Fun!
