1.0 SCOPE OF WORK & SUPPLY

1.1 The scope of supply is intended to cover the design, engineering, procurement,
manufacture, shop fabrication, pre-assembly, assembly, tests and inspection at
manufacturer’s works, packing and shipment of the following safety valves with all
accessories as called for in this specification.

1.2 Full nozzle, full lift type safety valve

1.3 All safety valves shall be supplied with following accessories:

a. Lifting lever
b. Test gag
c. Cap
d. Spring cover

Any other accessories to meet the statutory requirement and for better performance
of the valves.

1.4 Any instruments, gauges, flow meters required for doing performance test at site

1.5 Commissioning spares for the safety valves (shall be included in base price).

1.6 Two-year recommended spares for the above items.

1.7 Special tools, if any.

2.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR SAFETY VALVE:

2.1 The sizing calculation and selection of the safety valve shall be strictly as per IBR
regulations.

2.2 All safety valve shall be of full nozzle, full lift type.

2.3 Blow down and over pressure percentage values shall comply to IBR regulation
No.294 & 295 i.e 5% maximum of the set pressure.

2.4 Attachment 11 to Form-IIIC shall be provided for all safety valve.

2.5 In case of selection of more than one No. of safety valve is being selected for
particular application, to meet the total relieving capacity, the set pressure of the
safety valve shall be staggered by minimum 0.2 kg/sq.cm.

2.6 The inlet & outlet end connection shall be flanged as per ASME B 16.5 with
counter-flange & necessary hardware.

2.7 The valve seat shall be precision machined and lapped such that positive seating
and loss of medium is assured.

2.8 Cap and lever provided for the safety valve shall be of interchangeable type.

2.9 The material of safety valve shall meet the requirement of ASTM specification
assuring the highest degree of quality

2.10 The noise level at the outlet of safety valve shall be indicated by vendor.

2.11 The valve shall be suitable for outdoor installation in corrosive atmosphere.

2.12 VENDOR to guarantee the over pressure percentage and blow down percentage
values specified and agreed in the contract. Any adjustment required to achieve the
specified blow down and over pressure percentages at site shall be carried out by
the VENDOR. In case VENDOR is not able to achieve the specified over pressure
percentage and blow down percentage at site he should repair or replace the entire
valve assembly free of cost.

2.13 VENDOR shall indicate the set pressure range for all the safety valves.

2.14 No asbestos based or cadmium based material shall be used.

2.15 INSPECTION AND TESTING

2.15.1 Material certificates for review.

2.15.2 All valve shall be hydraulically tested as per ASME B 16.34.

2.15.3 All valve shall be tested for seat leakage as per ASME B 16.34.

2.15.4 Non destructive examination shall be done as per ASME B 16.34.

2.15.5 Performance test.
