Iota Members Giving Back

Kids Alley Learning Center
Deb Baldasarre is Iota’s connection to Kids Alley
Learning Center. Kids Alley is an afterschool
program for children from Camden and Camden
County. Deb volunteers at the program on a
regular basis and welcomes other Iota members
to join her in this rewarding endeavor. Iota
chapter makes monetary contributions to Kids
Alley Learning Center.
Part time opportunities for teachers, an
administrative assistant and substitute bus
driver are available. For details contact Brenda

Ronald McDonald House – Holiday Toy
Drive
A toy drive was hosted by Linda Calandra in
December to benefit the Ronald McDonald
House of South Jersey, Camden. With the out-
pouring generosity from two organizations
(Gloucester County Retired Educators
Association and Delta Kappa Gamma-IOTA
Chapter), Linda was able to collect a host of
new toys and warm clothing for the children.
Ann “Teddy” Thomas, RMD’s President and
Executive Director expressed her gratitude on
behalf of the Ronald McDonald house. Linda
wishes to extend a very warm thank you to all
who were able to donate.

Accomplishments
Faith Marie Brody won the Lisa Jackson
Scholarship to attend the Killer Nashville
Writing Conference. Killer Nashville was created
to educate and empower aspiring and
established writers of all genres incorporating
mystery, thriller and suspense. The scholarship
included an all expense trip to the mystery
writers’ conference in August 2018 in Nashville,

I am the Communications and Marketing
representative for the NE region and one of our
tasks is to complete a courtesy review of a new
website.
Your website is inviting and informative. I
enjoyed reading "about us" - it was thoughtful
and informational. Your Committee chairs serve
on many committees - I did notice several blank
spaces - any luck in filling those? The
Scholarships page was so inspiring beginning
with the quote at the top. Your chapter
certainly endows to many - how fortunate for
them. Your service projects also bring hope to
others - they are blessed by the hard work of
your members.
What a wonderful way to spend 30 minutes -

Welcome to our new inductees
We are pleased to share that Dr.Jacqueline
Brady, Christine Gentile, Krystal Kuni, Meghan
McCormick, and Shannon Pizzuta will be
inducted into our chapter this spring. They were
introduced at our chapter tea in January. We
are so proud of their accomplishments and
know they will make wonderful contributions to
our chapter and to DKGNJ.

In our thoughts . . . DKG International Convention –

We continue to hold our sister, Doris Lambert,
in our thoughts and prayers. Doris is continuing
her long recovery from health issues. We look
forward to having her back with us soon.
Philadelphia 2020
DKG International’s Convention will be in our
backyard July 7-11, 2020. Stay tuned for
opportunities to assist and participate in the
convention.
