Stacking and Adding Numbers

You need to stack the number you want to add.

To stack numbers:
Place the numbers you want to add on top of each other in their value places.
Place the plus sign,+, on the left of the stack
Draw a line at the bottom.

Multiplication
Multiplication is related to addition. It's a quick way of adding the same number many times.
If you have four numbers that are the same, such as 2 + 2 + 2 + 2, you can multiply them.
So, you can :
4x2=8 as 2+2+2+2=8

Division is the opposite of multiplication.

There is an order to be followed BODMAS

Do the bracket first

235 x ( 12 - 7 ) = 235 x 5 = 1175 correct

235 x ( 12 - 7 ) = 2820 - 7 = 2813 wrong

Do the divide or multiply before add or subtract

8+4x7 = 8 + 28 = 36 correct

8+4x7 = 12 x 7 = 72 wrong

874 + 25 x 13 = 874 + 325 = 1199 correct

874 + 25 x 13 = 899 x 13 = 11687 wrong

10284 - 685 x 9 = 10284 - 6165 = 4119 correct
