University of the People, Term 4

Expanding on your Discussion ice-breaker, you are to write one paragraph on the topic: Why do

you want to go to college?

I’m a very ambitious person and even without a higher education, I managed to build a nice

career for myself. But I want more, I always wanted to climb step by step and I believe that

education will always open new doors. I want to be proud of my work accomplishments but also

about my studies. I am here to learn and I take my studies very seriously. People joke that in my

house everybody studies, my daughter being a top student in her class as well.

My daughter is a reason for my desire to finish my studies as well. I want to be an example

for her. True, I didn’t finish my studies in my twenties but I want to show her that you can do

whatever you want, whenever you want and accomplish your dreams if you work hard for them.
