Nick: Great. And you?
Donna: Fine.
Nick: Donna, this is my friend Hiroshi.
Donna: Nice to meet you, Hir…sorry?
Hiroshi: It’s Hiroshi. H-I-R-O-S-H-I. Nice to meet you, Donna.

Alan: Where do you come from, Mohamed?

Mohamed: I’m from Cairo.
Alan: Cairo is in Egypt, right?
Mohamed: Yes.
Alan: S, tell me about Egypt, Mohamed.
Mohamed: Well, it’s in Africa --- North Africa.
Alan: Is it a hot country?
Mohamed: Yes, it’s very hot.

Realtor: What about this apartment?

Client: Is it a big apartment?
Realtor: Yes, there are three bedrooms.
Client: And bathrooms?
Realtor: There is just one bathroom.
Client: Is there a garden?
Realtor: No, there isn’t. But there’s a garage.
Unit 4
Cherir: Do you have a laptop?
Mia: Yes, I do. It’s great. It’s in my bag.
Cherie: And do you have an electronic dictionary?
Mia: Yes. This dictionary has English, French, Spanish, and Japanese.
Cherie: Wow! What about a camera? Do you have a camera?
Mia: No, I don’t. But I have a cell phone. There’s a camera in my cell
phone.
Cherie: You have a lot of cool things!

Alan: What time do you get up?
Bill: I get up at seven thirty Monday through Friday.
Alan: And on the weekend?
Bill: I get up at about ten o’clock.
Alan: And what time do you go to bed?
Bill: Sunday through Thursday, at about eleven o’clock, but on the
weekend…late!

Unit 6
Lily: Is there a post office near here?
Andy: Yes, there is. It’s on Park Street next to the Star of India Restaurant.
Lily: How do I get there?
Andy: Leave the hotel and turn left. Walk one block. It’s on the corner of Park
Street and Lincoln Avenue.
Lily: Thank you for your help.
