Using what you’ve learned about the features of a map and your
imagination, you will create a map of your very own country!

Your map must include:

 Your name printed clearly

 A title stating the name of your country
 A compass rose labeling north, south, east, west, and northwest,
northeast, southwest and southeast.
 A legend showing the symbols used on your map.
 A mountain range that runs east to west. Put the symbol for
mountains in the legend.
 A lake in the southern part of your country. Name it. Put the symbol
for lakes in the legend.
 A desert in the northern part of your country. Name it. Put the symbol
for desert in the legend.
 At least two rivers. Name them. Put the symbol for rivers in the
legend.
 Three cities. Name them. Put the symbol for cities in the legend.
 A scale at the bottom of the page.

The Fine Print:

 You must first create a rough draft of your country on graph paper.
 Go down the requirements list and make sure each item is included
on your draft. Check them off as you confirm.
 Final copies will be done on white construction paper.
 Your final copy must be colored and written in black pen (Do in
pencil first, copy over with pen, erase pencil).
 Be creative and have fun!
