I am interested in the position of High School Special Education Teacher for the
upcoming school year. I have 15 years of experience working as a para educator and a
substitute teacher, and a year of experience as the long-term substitute in your high
school resource room. During this past school year, I have written IEPs and held IEP
meetings, delivered instruction to students, coordinated duties with the para educators,
and collaborated with certified staff. I also had the added benefit of being on the
leadership team for our new MTSS program. As a para educator and substitute teacher, I
have experience working one on one with difficult students, as well as delivering general
education core instruction and special education instruction. I am willing to do what’s
needed for the benefit of my students and co-workers.
