Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of:
1. the characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and kinds of quantitative research;
2. the importance of quantitative research across fields;
3. the nature of variables.
Performance The learner is able to decide on suitable quantitative research in different areas of interest.

Brainstorming session
Ask the students what condition they are in. Are they happy, confused, puzzled, problematic?
How do they understand the word problem?

Activity 2: (5 minutes)
Using 2 pieces of bond paper, ask the student to make the tallest tower out of the pieces of
paper. The tower should stand on its own.

Analysis:
1. How did you find the activity?
2. Did you succeeded in building the tower?
3. Where did you get the idea in building your design?

Abstraction:
(Discuss the following with the students)
 Definition of Research
 Sources of Research Topics Problem
 Criteria in Selecting the Research Topic

Evaluation: Answer the following questions (essay or recitation):


1. What are the possible sources of research topic problem
2. Enumerate criteria in selecting a research topic
Assignment: Application: (Due 2 weeks after)
Group the students into group with 5 members. Each group will come up with 5 research
questions that they will use as their topic.
