End sem 2018-19 (PHY 461-462)

Students will be required to perform two exercises of 2.5 hrs. duration each.
These exercises will be a considerably shortened version of the full
experiment done during the semester. Students are advised to make a concise
report having the following essential elements;

1. A sketch of the key aspects of experiment such as circuit and/or ray

diagram.
2. Important formulae used in calculations.
3. Tabulated data.
4. Calculations and final result.
5. Error analysis
6. Viva

Any experimental help (to obtain the signal/ alignment/ circuits etc.) 5 marks will be deducted for
each help. TA’s must convey this information to the student before providing help and make a note of
it on their exam paper.
