Discover the Love of Christ

Frostproof, Florida March 2019

Dear Church Family,

I am thankful to those of you who took the time to give a card,
note, financial gift or gift card to me for Pastor Appreciation. I
read each one and it was humbling to read your encouraging
comments. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be
your pastor these years. You are a generous and loving bunch
of folks. (I must tell you that I received a letter from my long-
lost “cuzzin” and a 1-million-dollar bill- imagine that!) I am
blessed to be able to minister to you and with you.

Over time it is easy for businesses, educational institutes, and

even churches to drift away from their original purpose. It is
especially disconcerting when it happens to churches. If we are
not careful, we get into a maintenance mode where we
become increasingly focused on what happens to people
already in God’s family, to the exclusion of those who are lost
and unchurched.
A couple of weeks ago I shared with our Sunday School Inside this issue:
teachers our plan for outreach/evangelism for the rest of the
year. I will soon be sharing it with the entire church. It really is a
1
simple plan that everybody can be involved in, to some degree. Pastor’s Remarks
It is called “3 x 3 Evangelism”. I am going to ask everyone to
choose 3 people, and do 3 things for each one: pray, invite to Annie Armstrong Easter 2
Bible study and worship, and share Jesus in some form or Offering, “Sending Hope”
fashion, if given the opportunity.
We are also going to be involved in a campaign called March Calendar 3
March Birthdays
“Saturate USA”, which consists of distributing the Jesus movie
to every household in our zip code (33843). We are inviting
other churches in Frostproof to join us in this endeavor. We FBC Ministry 4
hope to do this around the Easter season. I will share more Service Schedules
details soon. Please begin to pray for this effort. I hope you will Evangelism 3X3
make yourself available for this worthwhile outreach event.
In Christ,

3 X 3 is a year-long evangelism emphasis to encourage every church

member to engage 3 lost friends with the Gospel by: praying for them,
inviting (bringing) them to church, and personally sharing the gospel. I
will identify three lost people and do three specific actions.

Pray for the salvation of others. Ask God to:

• Move them to repentance and saving faith (Luke 13:3)

• Tear any strongholds that are keeping them from salvation
(1 Corinthians 10:3-5)
• Make their heart receptive to the gospel (Acts 16:14)

Bring-Invite people to worship, small groups, or other events

• Bring lost friends to church events so they can hear the gospel.
• Bring lost friends to Sunday School. Many people will join a group if
they are asked.
• Sunday School and small groups plan outreach oriented fellowships
where guests can meet people who are in the group.

Share the Gospel

• Learn to share their story (testimony) by writing it out and practice it.
• Learn a simple gospel presentation.
• Be bold and look for opportunities to personally share the gospel.
