TECHNICAL MANUAL
1. Presentation
Thank you for choosing this Tavrida Electric product. The Recloser Mounting Kit (hereafter RMK) is designed for use as an
installation set for the OSM15/OSM25/OSM35, together with 1 or 2 sets of surge arresters and the VT15/VT25/VT35 and RC7/RC5
Recloser Control Cubicle, onto round, wooden or metal, as well as, on concrete, trapezoidal, single standing poles and H standing
poles.
The main feature which distinguishes the new mounting kit from the previous version is the user-friendly and simplified
installation procedure for the OSM and RC.
The rigid structure of the mounting kit ensures its excellent reliability and longevity.

Safety information

The instructions in this manual are not intended as a substitute for competency in the use of the equipment described. Installation,
use and servicing should only be carried out by trained and experienced personnel who are familiar with the equipment and with
electrical safety requirements.

A competent technician must be:

• thoroughly familiar with these instructions;
• trained in industry-accepted medium- and low voltage safe operating practices and procedures;
• trained in the care and use of protective equipment such as flash clothing, safety glasses, face shield, hard hat, rubber gloves, hot
stick, etc.

NB! All mounting and lifting operations must be performed with caution and by trained personnel.

2. Design

This manual describes the scope of supply, design and construction of all type of mounting kits intended for use with Automatic
Circuit Reclosers.
All mounting kits are suitable for the following type of poles:

Mounting kits RecMount_OSM15_1, RecMount_OSM35_1, RecMount_VT_1 are delivered packed into carton boxes.
RecMount_OSM15_ext and RecMount_OSM35_ext are packed in plastic wrapping.

1. Selection guide
RecMount_OSM15_1* The kit is designed for installation of the OSM15/OSM25 onto a single pole (wooden, concrete, metal).
RecMount_OSM35_1* The kit is designed for installation of the OSM35 onto a single pole (wooden, concrete, metal).
RecMount_OSM15_Ext The kit is designed for installation of the OSM15/OSM25 onto an H pole (should be used together with
the RecMount_OSM15_1).
RecMount_OSM35_Ext The kit is designed for installation of the OSM35 onto an H pole (should be used together with the
RecMount_OSM35_1).
RecMount_VT_1 The kit is designed for VT15/VT25/VT35 installation onto a single or H pole (wooden, concrete, metal).
RecComp_Tool_Band (ENSTO_CT42) Special tool for tightening of the steel band. Supplied with every set under request.
* Surge arresters are not included in the range of supply. Mounting provisions for surge arresters are provided.

2. Incoming inspection
• Upon receipt of the mounting kit, check the condition of the packing according to the packing list.
• Check if the carton packing has any heavy damage, which could result in bending or damaging of load bearing parts.
• Check for heavy scratches or signs of rust on galvanized parts.

3. Installation
Installation of the mounting kits together with OSM15/OSM25/OSM35, RC_5/RC_7 and VT15/VT25/VT35 including surge arresters
is described in the relevant Assembly Instructions:

During installation, the technicians must follow all obligatory requirements related to:
• Lifting of the equipment;
• Connecting and fixing of parts with relevant tightening torque for all screw and bolted connections;
• Tightening and fixing of the equipment with the help of steel band and buckle locks;
• Earthing;
• Connection of the primary circuits;
• Connection of the secondary circuits.

4. Connection of primary circuits

The connections with the primary circuits are to be done with relevant cross-section of the conductors and tightened following the
recommendations described in the Recloser Installation and Operation manual.

5. Earthing
The earthing of the Mounting kits RecMount_OSM15_1, RecMount_OSM35_1 and RecMount_VT_1 must be done with the help of
an earth links from main earthing leading to the nearest available M12 bolt connection of the mounting kit. Earth lead accessory is
supplied separately under request:

Mounting kit RecMount_OSM15_Ext and RecMount_OSM35_Ext are physical extensions of the RecMount_OSM15_1,

6. Connection of auxiliary circuits

Please see Recloser Installation and Operation Manual for auxiliary connections details.

7. Commissioning
After assembly and installation, it is necessary to check the following:

a. Conformity of the assembly with the assembly drawings in the relevant Assembly instruction
b. Fittings tightening. See chapter 3 “Installation” for relevant tightening torque in the current Technical Manual and
Application Guide
c. Steel band and buckles condition for absence of damages
d. Primary circuits connections (OSM, VT, surge arresters)
e. Earthing connections to OSM, RC and VT and their mounting kits
f. External auxiliary circuits connections (VT supply cable, RecUnit_Umbilical)

8. Functionality
General
All mounting kits are designed to bear a full load of relevant OSM/RC/VT under influence of strong winds, vibration, UV radiation, ice and
snow conditions, hot temperature, polluted and corrosive atmosphere. All type of poles are applicable.
Type of kit: Distinguished feature:
RecMount_OSM15_1 1 or 2 sets of the surge arresters can be installed.
RecMount_OSM35_1 All type of poles are applicable.

RecMount_VT_1 Universal kit for 12-40kV voltage transformers

9. Service and maintenance

The Mounting kit does not require any special service or maintenance during its entire life.
However visual checks of the metal parts surface condition (rust or physical damages) as well as fittings (loose connections) should
be carried out during the Recloser's normal service and maintenance interval.

10. Troubleshooting
No troubleshooting is applicable for Mounting kits.
For Recloser troubleshooting please turn to Recloser Installation and Operation manual.

11. Salvaging
All Mounting kits are produced from ordinary materials which do not require special treatment for salvaging.
