spent plenty of time in the kitchen this week preparing a pile of pies (Hubby Cody was right behind her with
another armful of pies) for the Glasgow Wrestling Club’s Annual Spaghetti Feed & Pie Auction at the Glasgow
Elks Lodge. Perhaps spring fever helped the cause as it was the nicest evening we’ve had in weeks, but as
always, the support was overwhelming: a lot of the usual faces and a few new ones. On a very sad note, one that
was missing was that of Bob Smith, perhaps the greatest Glasgow wrestling fan and supporter of them all, who
passed away on Tuesday. Along with the pies bringing in a pretty penny, a final spot in the upcoming Milk River
Catfish Classic

Guns and Crosses
At issue here are two things you need
to consider when you make your decision
next year when you are asked to vote for
your next president. Is it four more years
of Trump who will continue fighting for
the life of this country as we know it or a
Democrat/Socialist who will tear it down to the bare bones
and bury your kids and grandkids in a debt much worse than
the one we have now?
Do you support a Democrat like California’s
Representative Mike Thompson (D CA) who told a bunch of
folks at a press conference that “the only way to prevent ALL
gun violence in America is to take away everyone’s guns.”
Good on ya’ Representative! And good advice as well.
Just ask Hitler, Mussolini, The Polish folks who innocently
agreed to a National Gun Registry and all the American
soldiers who died fighting for Europe and England’s right to
protect themselves.
He (Thompson) hinted that the Republicans are “secretly
in favor of gun confiscation because anytime the other side
(Most Americans and in particular the Republicans) says
that this isn’t enforceable without a National Registry, that’s a
code word that they want a National Registry.” Yikes!
There was a shooting in Ottawa, Canada a week or so
ago. Canada has very strict gun laws. There are three classes
of licenses that include, Non-Restricted which are shotguns
and rifles, Prohibited which are most handguns that have
short barrels i.e. 25 or 32 caliber, full automatic weapons,
sawed-off barrels and weapons such as AK 47’s. And then
there’s Restricted, which include non-prohibited handguns,
some semi-automatic rifles and certain non-semi-automatic
rifles.
Can you imagine something like this in a country with
10 times the population as Canada?
Would you feel OK if the government confiscated your
weapons? Would you favor a National Gun Registry? Would
you feel safe in your home without some form of protection
other than a kitchen knife? Could you protect your family
with a kitchen knife?

J Trump will not let them take our weapons and is opposed
to a National Registry. Some moron California Democrat
Representative wants to confiscate all weapons.
Your Choice.
And yet another dilemma. Can we Americans allow
those folks who want to obliterate our US History ( Wake
Forest University for one) by outlawing things like Civil
War memorial statues, pictures of former slave owners in
the halls of a college and now, a 40’, 16 ton concrete cross in
Bladensburg, Maryland is in the cross hairs of some people
recently admitted to this country.
The cross was erected back in the day to commemorate
49 soldiers from Bladensburg who perished in the First World
War. Their names, along with a notation by then President
Woodrow Wilson are inscribed on a plaque at the foot of the
cross.
Some folks call it a Christian Cross designed after the
“Cross of Calvary” as described in the Bible.
Some Muslims will take offense to the cross. Some
folks say that Buddah will be offended by the cross. Some
folks say Shinto will be offended. Some folks say that
the LBGTQRSTUVWXYZ community will be offended.
Catholics, Jews, Russians, Episcopalians, a few Christians,
some politicians, some Southern Baptists and finally, the Girl
from Ipanema won’t like it and the list of detractors goes on
and on.
One sticking pernt in all this is that there are some
bushes around the base of the cross covering the plaque and
inscription. What!?
The U.S. Court of Appeals, 4th District cited the cross
is unconstitutional. The appeal court made this ruling: This
case is not ALL about the bushes, of course. It’s also about
the size of the memorial, it’s location along a mainstream
thoroughfare, it’s conspicuous location and....and..the fact
that some folks will actually kneel and pray in front of the
memorial in plain view of the public. (How Dare They? Pray
in Plain Sight? Egads!)
I can see a Montana Cowboy in all this saying ‘what
a load of BS! Let it stand and leave it alone! And leave my
guns alone.’ Like the University of Wyoming once said, “The
World Needs More Cowboys.” OK, and Cowgirls.

2020: Bullock calls Hillary for help
Governor Steve Bullock (D-MT) is calling on
Hillary Clinton for help ahead of 2020. This, despite
the fact that Bullock keeps telling the Montana media
that he is focused on the 2019 Montana Legislative
Session, and refuses to say whether or not he is running
for president, even as he plans a sixth trip to Iowa.
Apparently he’s still awaiting a return phone call,
according to this piece in The New York Times:
“In recent months, a parade of ambitious Democrats
has held private sessions with Mrs. Clinton, who has
counseled them about the unmatched rigors of the campaign
trail and hardships of facing Mr. Trump, according to
people familiar with the conversations. Beyond Mr. Biden
and Ms. Klobuchar, she has spoken with Senator Kamala
Harris of California; Mr. Booker; Senator Elizabeth
Warren of Massachusetts; John Hickenlooper, the former
governor of Colorado; and the former housing secretary
Julián Castro, among others. She and Mr. McAuliffe
speak regularly. Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana is trying
to schedule a meeting with her.”
Pelosi House advances gun control measure
The Nancy Pelosi-led House of Representatives
is advancing gun control legislation on Capitol Hill.
Congressman Greg Gianforte today voted against the
measure earlier this week, adding:
“This legislation targets law-abiding gun owners and
fails to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals. The
bill makes it illegal for a domestic abuse victim to borrow
a gun from a friend for protection, unless the threat is
imminent. And nothing in the bill would have prevented
recent tragedies of mass violence. Instead, the bill is a
dangerous step toward a national gun registry which I
strongly oppose. I stand ready to work with lawmakers
on a bipartisan approach to prevent mass violence while
also protecting and defending the Second Amendment
rights of law-abiding gun owners.”
