Teaching Reflection Assignment: Dante R Williams

1. Identify the psychomotor skill focus for this lesson:
➢ Jumping was our psychomotor skill for today’s lesson.
➢ SWBAT – perform 5 types of flight from feet using correct form and land with resilient landing completing 2 out of 3
successful trials.
2. Identify the movement concept(s) focus for this lesson:
➢ Body – locomotor skills = jumping
➢ Space – Open hallway and classroom area
➢ Effort – Force output on jump variations (jump, hop, leap, etc.)
➢ Relationship – Spacial awareness of poly marker distance and other surrounding students.
3. Did your students meet the learning objective(s) for this lesson? How do you know?
➢ Yes, our students performed well for this lesson. The data shows a high percentage of the students assessed met the
criteria for the learning objective for today’s lesson. See the data on the scoring rubric for detailed data information.
➢ Critical elements assessed for performance levels and criteria scoring were:
i. Body facing launch marker
ii. Knees bent and arms back
iii. Feet take flight
iv. Land with resilient landing and arms forward in front of body
4. Based on the results of your assessment what task would you begin with for the next lesson for this content with the same
children?
➢ Spend more time on the essential elements of the skill. The majority of our students didn’t perform the critical
elements of the skill well. Towards the end of the assessment the students cared more about the product and
outcome of the skill rather than the process of performing the critical elements correctly.
