Problem: Factory construction model (Bangladeshi perspectives)

The problem suggests that we have to build 100 factories within the time of 1 year. So, the desired
number of factories are 100 and completion time is one year or 12 months. At first, the company
did not expect delays but then they were assigned to build 150 factories. So, they are expecting
delays in the process. We have to find out the response of the factory model as the number of
factories increase.

Formula and Solution:

Factories under Construction = T

Delay Time = DT

Completion Time (CT) = 1year (12 months)

Initial factories under construction = INT = 0

Factories under Construction (T) = Factories under Construction (T - DT) + (Starting Rate -
Completion Rate) * DT

Inflows:

Starting Rate = Difference/Starting time

Outflows:

Completion rate = factories under construction/completion time (CT)

Total number of factories = total number of factories (T – DT) + completion rate * DT

Initial total number of factories = 100

After 50 extra factories are assigned to construct

Inflows:

Completion rate = Factories under construction/Completion time

Completion time = 4

Desired factories = 100+50 units

Difference = desired number of factories - Total number of factories

Outcome = the difference between desired number of factories and total number of factories after
the completion time is the expected delay time.
