1.0 INTRODUCTION

These days everyone needs to buy goods and services required to meet basic needs of life.
Average expenditure is the cost of living. In addition to the increase in transport fares, toll
rates, the price of oil and many others, the cost of living has also increased respectively.
Therefore, many low-income families and middle-income working families to manage their
financial masing.Untuk increase the cost of living, they are aggressively seeking ways to
assist them in supporting the cost of living is lower. My aim in writing this essay is to
express the challenges of high cost of living and how to handle it.

2.0 CHALLENGES THE HIGH COST OF LIVING

2.1 Fuel Price Hike

Oil prices, which increased day by day is becoming a major challenge in the
Malaysian family. Moreover, recently the government has withdrawn the subsidy
on petrol. The price of petrol has increased its direct and indirect goods and services
also increased the price includes food needed every day. According to a research
report made by Roslan, RUSSAYANI AND Nor Azam (2014), found that if there
was an increase 50.14% in oil prices, household spending will increase by 3.75%
to a comfortable standard of living can be maintained. "The ability of families to
meet their basic needs is an important step for economic stability and prosperity"
(Allegretto 2016).

2.2 Salary Not Equal

Salaries to be lower outside the urban areas as a result of an increase in the inflation
rate high. Everything feel the impact of this group, especially the lower and middle
income. The increase in prices of basic necessities and housing rental costs rising
and the cost of transportation also became a pressure. Because of the uncertainty of
oil prices has also become a pressure to the consumer and this has made the country
less favourable economic climate, hence this has inhibited the growth of the local
economy.

2.3 Unplanned Expenses By Individuals and Society

Not only is this, the actual expenses not planned by individuals and communities
also a factor of increased cost of living in our country. This is because, if we do not
plan our spending money we might be short of money in the future.
3.0 HOW TO OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES OF HIGH COST OF LIVING

3.1 Reduce travel expenses budget

If you want to place the same car we can share with family members or friends.
This can save on transportation costs. For example, one can use car sharing to work
and to school, if bow direction on the same road. In addition, we are urged to cook
it yourself from eating out at restaurants because of the cost of transport to the
restaurant and eat in the restaurant expenses are very high.

3.2 Part time work online

These days with the advanced ICT equipment for our part-time work at home online
is one way to increase revenue to reduce the cost of living is growing by day it's
easy and does not require any cost. They can build websites, write or translate for
the internet age where the facility gained knowledge at your fingertips will provide
opportunities to learn skills to earn an income online.

3.3 Applying the practice of thrift

Not only that, we also need to be thrifty. We need to control wasteful spending
appetite to manage expenses prudently and wisely. We must manage our money
properly to reduce unnecessary spending and savings should switch to a stronger
currency or asset more valuable as real estate

4.0 CONCLUSION

In conclusion I can here is the cooperation between the people and the government is very
necessary for addressing the cost of living is increasing. With the concept of cooperation
between each other, the problems facing the country can be solved easily, no matter it is
politically, socially, economically or in the education system. A country will be peaceful
and prosperous when the country was spared from being colonized by foreign powers.
Finally, all Malaysians should strive to reduce the cost of living for the sake of a bright
future.
