THE PROBLEM

Although South African adults now have

the Constitutional Right to grow &
consume cannabis for their own
personal recreational or medicinal
purposes:
"I have no space” "I don’t have green-fingers”
Not every South African has equal access
to the land, space, infrastructure or
knowledge required to exercise their
right to cultivate cannabis for personal
use

"I have zero time” “My landlord says no ways”

 MEDICAL/HEALTH

Cannabis is no longer just used for

recreational purposes. CBD is increasingly
being sought out by individuals for health
reasons:

• Reduce chronic pain and inflammation

(without the side-affects of traditional drugs)

• For both depression and anxiety

(It has even been used to safely treat insomnia
and anxiety in children with PTSD)

• Treating neurological disorders like epilepsy

and multiple sclerosis.

• American Cancer Society & National Cancer

Institute recognize CBD oil’s potential in
slowing and reducing the spread of cancer
cells.

• Several benefits for the heart and circulatory

system, including the ability to lower high
blood pressure

In Feb 2019 the UN World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that Cannabis and Cannabis Resin be deleted from
Schedule IV of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.
 SAFETY CONCERNS

The problem is that those wanting to use the allotropic or health benefits
of CBD for themselves, their children or their pets are relying on dubious
products flooding the market

Third party test results on some of the most

popular CBD products being bought in
South Africa show:

• Less than 1% of these products actually

contain CBD

• Many of these products contain

Pesticides,

Heavy metals: lead, mercury

Arsenic

Residual solvents

Mycotoxins

There is no easy way for the South African public to know who or what to trust in the exploding CBD market.

South Africans can have access to quality
traceable plant products and CBD oils that
they can trust.

HOW IT WORKS

1. The Lease

• My Green Patch connects individuals to small/

micro scale farmers utilising the blockchain
geo-location tool called What3Words

• What3Words has subdivided the world into a

3x3sqm grid, and has assigned each 3x3sqm
a unique 3 word address

• Using this technology base we generate a

lease agreement for the individual for a
specific 3x3sqm patch

• By extension, this area under the lease

becomes his/her own private property

• The lease is paid for monthly by the individual

HOW IT WORKS

2. Service Agreement

• The individual signs a service level

agreement with a master or traditional
grower

• These passionate expert growers provide

a private gardening service for that
3x3sqm patch the individual has leased

• The individual pays a monthly gardening

service to the grower to look after his/her
plants

• The grower will use approved growing

mediums, nutrients, water, ventilation
and lighting systems (where appropriate)
HOW IT WORKS

3. Responsibility

Because the cannabis grown is the private

property of the individual, the individual has
to:

• Provide the seeds of the strain they have

selected (if its for health reasons they will be
guided what the best varietal is for their
condition)

• Collect his/her dried and cured harvest or

product when it is ready

As a result, every individual can trust that the

product s/he want, is the product that is
grown, tracked and traced back to the seed
supplied.

How it Works

• My Green Patch would be the mechanism

that the cooperatives use to create a legal
framework for their growers and
cooperative members.

• Each member that signs up to a

cooperative will be assigned a lease and
gardening service agreement for a My
Green Patch.

• The member’s monthly cooperative

amount will be based on the My Green
Patch subscription model that they sign
up for.

• The harvests from the individual My

Green Patches go into a collective and is
shared like a Stokvel.
THE COOPERATIVE

Transparency, Tracking & Tracing

• The MGP mobile wallet will enable

cooperatives to create an effective and
transparent Stokvel system

• All records of members, member ID

numbers, and My Green Patches will be
stored in the cooperative database

• A member’s My Green Patch subscription

is translated into tokens (1:1 exchange)

• Tokens can be exchanged for product

from all the collective members’ My Green
Patches

• The collective will be in charge of testing

the quality of the product in the Stokvel to
ensure their members have access to
quality product they can trust
