THE SERVANT OF GOD: DR. IVAN MERZ

In life, you'll be facing diffrent kinds of challenges like problems about financial, education and
etc.. Growing up alone, Dr. Ivan Merz bravely face it all. He experienced all the horrors in the
World War I and his studies were interrupted. Despite of all of the happenings in his life that
time, he use it as his motivation to recognize, know and understand God more. He took all his
time learning about Catholic Faith and died believing on it. Seeing his story makes me trust
more in God and I know that he will protect and guide us everday as Dr. Merz believe in.

PADRE PIO OF PIETERLCINA

Children nowadays are into gadgets and etc., but some of them are into attending mass and
serves in church. Just like Francesco Forgione also known as "Padre Pio". At a young age, he was
very religious and and decided to dedicate himself to God. As time goes by, he face many
challenges in his life to become a Friar. He also had problems in his health when he became a
Priest. Padre Pio died in serving his life to God. Padre Pio taught me to be religious and faith to
God while you are young. He also teught me to help those people who are in need and see God
in all things.

BATANG MARTYR: PEDRO CALUNGSOD

Sharing Words of God is a great example of your love and devotion to God. Saint Pedro
Calungsod is one of them. At a young age, he already joined group of missionaries who are
going to travel to Marianas Island to teach people about God. Pedro receives Sacraments
whenever he could and he also loves to share anything he knows in trust in God. Pedro died for
his faith at a age of 17. As I understand his story, I was inspired of all he goes through. Young
people like me can have strength and faith to serve God and everytime time I learn something
good, my faith in God becomes deeper. I know to myself that accept God wholeheartedly.

OUR LADY OF PEACE AND GOOD VOYAGE

A statue named Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje is one of the images celebrated of the
Blessed Virgin Mary here in the Phillipines. This image gives safe voyage and miracles to all of
the keepers that sailed in different seas and gives the title "Our Lady of Peace and Good
Voyage". Miracles only happen when you have faith in God. It was one of my beliefs I carry in
my life as long as you serve in God.
