JOIN US FOR ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP
Please take advantage of one of our worship opportunities as we begin our
Lenten journey on Wednesday March 6th: Ash and Dash (drive-through
ashes in the parking lot), 7–9 a.m. & 1–3 p.m.; Simple Ash Wednesday
Liturgy with Holy Eucharist at 12 Noon; and Ash Wednesday Liturgy with
Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m.
LENTEN OUTREACH: EASTER BASKETS FOR THE
HOMELESS
For the past three years, we have participated in creating Easter Baskets for
our brothers and sisters who are homeless around the downtown area.
Each year, as we have increased the number of baskets we filled, your
generosity has been phenomenal and for that we say “Thank You!” In our
desire to reach more hungry people, we have set a goal of filling 500
baskets this year. We are confident that during the season of Lent, the
people of St. Augustine will help us to reach that goal. What better way can
we show the love of the crucified and risen Lord to our homeless family
members, than to make sure that they will have a meal on Easter Sunday!
Here’s the list of the items we will need to gather for the Lenten/Easter
Basket Outreach Project:
March 10th Bottled Water (any brand or size)
March 17th Sliced Bread (any brand or type)
March 24th Sliced Cheese (any brand or type of sliced cheese)
March 31st Luncheon Meat/Cold cuts (any brand or type of packaged
lunch meat for sandwiches)
April 7th Chips (Snack/lunch box size, any type or brand)
April 14th Hard boiled eggs (any type/amount is fine)
Please drop off the items in the basket marked "Lenten/Easter Basket
Outreach Project" located in the Commons Area. Thank you in advance for
your participation in making this a successful program!!

SUNDAY ADULT FORUM
Lent is a perfect time for
reflecting on adopting or
strengthening your spiritual
practice. During the Sunday
mornings in Lent, 9:35 to 10:20,
join a variety of presenters as
they talk about various spiritual
practices. We begin with Fr.
Joseph and Fr. Tony on Sunday,
March 10 talking about “Why
Spiritual Practices?” –why
engage a spiritual practice?
YOUTH STOCK SALE
The youth stock sale will
continue thru March 17th.
Proceeds will be used toward the
2019 mission trip to Winchester,
KY (June 22nd–29th) where the
youth missioners will spend an
intense week of worship and
home repairs. There are 17 youth
and 4 adults traveling this year.
Stocks are $50 each, and
stockholders will receive
admission to our annual stock
holders banquet (to be held upon
our return), email updates from
the youth while traveling, and
priceless thank you’s.
LENTEN SERIES—THE WAY OF LOVE: PRACTICES FOR A
JESUS-CENTERED LIFE
As we engage the ancient practice of setting aside Lent as a period of study
and preparation for living as a Christian disciple, our forums this year
encourage participants to embrace the transforming reality of love, life, and
liberation. This series of study and reflection is encouraged by Presiding
Bishop Michael Curry and our own Bishop Ed. We will meet weekly in the
Parish Hall on Wednesday evenings, March 13 through April 24, beginning at
6:30 p.m. with a light dinner followed by our session, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS/FISH FRIDAYS
Beginning March 15th, we will gather on Fridays throughout Lent at 6:00 p.m.
to pray the Stations of the Cross. This year, the Stations will be led by
members of the Daughters of the King. Following the prayer service, a light
fish reception will be served, hosted by members of the congregation.
TAIZE CENTERING PRAYER
There will be no midweek Bible study during Lent. In its place, we will have
Taizé Centering Prayer each Wednesday from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM
Each week the congregation is invited to “Walk with Jesus” by accumulating
the 6,868 miles from OKC to Jerusalem. We do this to engage the Lenten
discipline of honoring our bodies as the “Temples of the Holy Spirit.” We
encourage you to log your miles (or steps) walked in the side chapel clipboard
each Sunday.
Our progress will be tabulated weekly and reported. Note: each week you will
be given a devotional item to be used during your walk. You can fulfill our
goal by walking alone or with a companion(s). We begin our journey on Ash
Wednesday, March 6th, and will complete our symbolic pilgrimage to the
Holy Land on God’s Friday, April 12th.

VIDEO TEAM VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED!
We are looking for detail-oriented volunteers willing to help with live
streaming the 10:45 a.m. Sunday services to YouTube. Learn from our own
professional videographers/news reporters Marc and Paige Dillard.
Familiarity with YouTube and Apple devices is a plus, but not necessary. The
primary requirement is dependability and willingness to learn the equipment.
The commitment is three to four Sundays for training and then one Sunday
per month for about two hours (including set up and take down of the
equipment.)
