Introduction to Social Studies 10: Contemporary Issues
 Social Studies is a study of social sciences like humanities or
the way of living of people on how they can interact with
the things around them or in the natural world. It talks
about the happenings in the society including the history or
past and present. Aside from these it also awakens every
person on the issues and to teach them on how to discipline
and learn from things about the economic, geography and
politics.

Amazing Facts
 Social Studies is a subject that expands my thinking about
the happenings in our society.
 I have learned that all forms of life are important and
everything is connected to anyone else.
 I have learned that “madaling maging tao pero mahirap
magpakatao”.
 I have learned many about the history or past.
 I have learned that the first 10 amendments to the
Constitution are called the Bill of Rights.
 It molds us to become a developed or mature people.
 Prepares us to grow up as active, responsible and reflective
members of society.
 I have learned how to interact with individuals.
 I have learned to adapt different situations.
 Lastly, I have really learned about Human Rights that each of
us have the own rights and don’t let other people treadle
your dignity.

My Social Scientist
The Social Scientist who greatly inspired me is Karl Marx. He was
a German philosopher, economist, journalist and revolutionary who is one of the
most influential figures in history due to the impact of his theories on subsequent
intellectual, economic and political history. His most famous works include
the Communist Manifesto, one of the world’s most influential political
manuscripts; and Das Kapital, the foundational theoretical text of communist
philosophy, economics and politics. Among the most influential theories of Marx
are the theory of historical materialism based on class struggle; and the theory of
alienation of workers under capitalist conditions. Marx is considered the father of
modern sociology and his work in economics laid the foundation for
understanding labor and its relation to capital.
My Social Studies Icons through the years
Grade 7:
- My teacher when I was in grade 7 is Ma’am Emma Dillig.
She is one of my best Social Study teacher because of her
intelligence that she knows all the information or
backgrounds about the Asian Country and every details
about it she makes sure that she will expand our
understanding. Her class wasn’t boring and you will shock
that the board was already full because of her writings. I
think a one box of chalk is already enough for 4 or 5 days.
She also know all the questions you will ask to her. She was
really brilliant and our time to her class is not wasted
because she will not run out of ideas and words that she
can impart to us.
Grade 8:
- My teacher when I was in grade 8 is Ma’am Venus Dayag.
My learning experience with her was funny because of her
style of teaching and she was cheerful. I am not saying that
she’s not good in teaching because she has the knowledge
but the problem was she was lazy in teaching that she
couldn’t explain more about the topic. I can say that I have
learned to her but not that many because she didn’t
elaborate it well.
Grade 9:
- My teacher when I was in Grade 9 was Ma’am Annaliza
Bunnagan. She is dedicated to her work that even though
sometimes we’re not listening she still continue her
discussion and explain the topic. I can say that her teachings
was very good.
Grade 10
- Throughout my Junior High School Life she is the best Social
Study teacher because she is awesome, smart and she was
a cool teacher. I said that she was cool because she knows
how to appreciate and how to go with the flow with us. She
really assure that in her discussion we learned something.
She had many lessons that she imparted to us and we can
use it in our current lives and on our future needs.
