SOP for Oil sample collection for DGA

Required tools

 1 Bucket
 1 flange with nozzle & Pipe

 Cotton waste
 Spanner of required size
 Sampling bottle

Sampling Procedure

 Clean the sampling valve properly by cotton waste.

 Put the bucket below the valve.
 Open the cover plate of the valve.

  Fix the flange with the sampling Valve.
 Hold the bottle inside the bucket.
 Put the pipe inside the top part of the sampling bottle.

  Tilt the bottle by making an angle as low as possible, preferably 30-
40 deg (this is required to avoid moisture or air ingression)
 Slowly open the valve and start oil filling in the sampling bottle.
 During oil filling adjust the angle as per requirement (increase the
angle when oil get filled in the bottle)
 Close the valve after collection of sample.
 Open the flange and fix the cover plate.
 Through all the above process take special care to avoid oil spillage.
