IV. INTRODUCTION
The researchers recommend this abelmoschus esculentus
toothpaste. That can help to make your teeth stronger and
whiter. This study was done to determine the efficient okra
is as one of the main ingredients of toothpaste. Out of
nowhere, the researchers have notice this lady fingers on
our right side. Then the researchers created a study that
will commend the abilities of lady fingers that we don’t
know.

A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

WHAT IS OKRA?
Okra is the only vegetable crop of significance in the
Malvaceae family, based on our research. It also often used
for medicinal and culinary purposes. Medicinal and culinary
purposes are referring to the process of making medicines
and cooking foods. Also, okra seed contains more oil, less
protein, and less cyclopropenoid fatty acids. This is
according to (ARIZONA EDUCATION)
B. Statement of the Problem

The study tried to determine if the abelmoschus

esculentus will work as one of the major ingredients on how

to make toothpaste. In the development of this study, we are

about to create a new flavor of toothpaste. Specifically, it

sought to find answers to the following questions.

1. How may the abelmoschus esculentus can be capable as

one of the ingredients of toothpaste?

2. What are the characteristics of abelmoschus esculentus

that will best suited in the thingy toothpaste?

3. What are the ability of abelmoschus esculentus that can

upgrade the normal or common type of toothpaste?

4. How may the perceived extent ability of abelmoschus

esculentus will develop the toothpaste’s content,

advanced features, and skills be described?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the

abelmoschus esculentus and the original ingredients of

toothpaste…?

5.1 Similarities between abelmoschus esculentus and the

common ingredients of toothpaste.

5.2 Difference between abelmoschus esculentus and the

common igredients of toothpaste.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES: To determine the special abilities

of okra, that can help our study more compelling.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To determine the effectiveness of

okra’s superpower in toothpaste.

C. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of this study research is to give
emphasize on okra for toothpaste. The study is all about the
lady fingers for toothpaste. As for the research many people,
especially the children had a problem about their teeth and
when their parents want to force the children to go to the
dentist, the children are crying. So the researchers are
suggesting using the product lady fingers toothpaste. The
ingredients that the researchers mixed in making toothpaste
are the following: Baking Soda which has sodium carbonate
that is used as an antacid to treat hurt burn, indigestion,
and upset stomach. So if ever the people had swallowed the
toothpaste, it is not dangerous and can treat the ones said
above. This is according to
(https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-11325/sodium-
bicarbonate-oral/details) Next is the peppermint. It has 40%
of vitamin c, wherein it is essential for repairing tissues
including: skin, TEETH, and bones. This is according to
(https://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=1
02). The other one is the salt. Salt has been a part of dental
care regime for ages now. It can disinfect our mouth from
germs and bacteria. Because it is a natural disinfectant. It
was also considered an effective yet abrasive that could
remove stains and dirt from our teeth. This is according to
(https://www.google.com.ph/amp/s//food.ndtv.com/food-
drinks/salt-for-dental-health-do-salt-toothpastes-actually-
make-your-teeth-stronger-or-whiter-1817395FAMP=1&kamai-
rum=off). Coconut oil has a lauric acid that attacks harmful
bacteria in the mouth that can cause bad breath, tooth decay
and gum disease. It can reduce plaque and fight gum disease.
This is according to (Kyla Mcdonell, RD on June 9, 2016 and
in the link https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/coconut-
oil-and-teeth#section6)Next is “lady fingers” some people say
that okra is for diabetes, diet etc. But you know what, there
are some various parts of the okra that has antibacterial and
one cup of okra contains almost 40% of the daily value of
vitamin c, which is essential for normal growth and
development in the body. It plays an important role in
maintaining and repairing tissues, including: skin, teeth,
and bones. That’s the main ingredients of our toothpaste.
This study proves that lady fingers is possible to be a
toothpaste and this study will make you think “what should I
choose when it comes to toothpaste not only for my kids but
for my family also, should I try lady fingers toothpaste or
not”.

D. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness if
Okra can be made as homemade Toothpaste. That can help your
teeth get clean and stronger

V. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

OKRA FOR TEETH

One cup of okra contains almost 40% of the daily value of
vitamin C, which is essential for normal growth and development
in the body. It plays an important role in maintaining and
repairing tissues, including: skin, teeth, and bones.
Additionally, vitamin C is an antioxidant, which neutralizes
free radicals that can accumulate in the body and often lead to
aging and some diseases [4].Calcium and potassium are found in
okra, each comprising about 8% of the daily value. Calcium is
well known for its function in maintaining bone and teeth
health, but is also critical to cell signaling, blood clotting,
muscle contraction and nerve function. Potassium also aids in
nerve and muscle communication as well as aiding in blood
pressure control because it can lessen the effects of sodium.

As Paracelsus said, all things are poisonous, only the dossage makes the difference. Okra, I've heard
from several sources (I'll see if I can make it official), is the most toxic plant regularly consumed by
humans. That doesn't make it specifically poisonous, you're not going to die eating an Okra or anything,
but it is an interesting fact and a useful antidote to the claims that "all natural" foods are somehow
tested by centuries of experience. They really aren't, and there's no telling what surprises are going to
show up when our food plants are actually tested. --(Suttkus 12:25, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Are the pods of the okra the only parts of the plant that are put to commercial use? What kind of root
or tuber does it produce?

The local grocery store offers packages of frozen okra pods that have been cut into segments, but it
looks like it is impossible to buy the complete pods, or the stems or the leaves, for that matter.

How many parts of the okra are edible?

Is it poisonous to eat the leaves, or the roots?

Does it produce a tap root like the carrot does? Or is it more like a horse radish root? —The preceding
unsigned comment was added by (198.177.27.21 talk contribs) .

Whole pods are often available in grocery stores in Houston, TX - I assume the Portland area would be
the same but you might need to wait for warmer weather. You could buy seeds and grow some yourself
come spring (SCEhardT 13:50, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Okra does not do well in cooler climates. It is one of the last crops planted in early summer in the deep
south. Ground temperature must be over 75 or the seeds will rot. I have my doubts about cascade okra
without greenhouse or hotbox supplementation. It is best boiled, batter fried, or in gumbo dishes. I am
unaware of any attempts to eat parts other than the pods and seeds. Whole pods are available in most
areas where okra can be grown. I have never heard of any part of the okra being poisonous but in light
of the fact that rhododendron, hemlock, oak nuts, and potatoes contain poisons, it is best to air on the
side of caution. Okra is not a root drop and has no exceptional root or tuber system. (are you confusing
it with kudzu, which has legumous sacs?) It may be possible to make some cooking enhancements to the
vegetable, but it is nutritious to all and tasty to most who eat it in the aforementioned forms. The
original African okra strains produce very large pods before becoming woody and are more slimy than
the popular hybrids, like Clemson spineless okra. The original varieties take more time to come to
production, making them a near impossibility in short-season scenarios. (Georgia Bob rdr4@alltel.net)

Is Okra usually available in salted dishes? If the seeds in the pods are allowed to ripen, can they be
popped like popcorn, or roasted like sesame? I've seen candied confections with ground sesame seeds,
so I'd think that something similar should be possible with okra. As for the growing season in the
foothills to the Cascade Mountains in Oregon, it's so short it significantly limits the production of
tomatoes. Last frost at the 1100 feet above sea level is somewhere around May 15, and first frost is
somewhere around mid-to-early October. So that probably rules out raising okra in this part of the
world, unless the okra can be hybridized with some other cold-loving species of the mallow family to
produce something frost resistant.

Somebody has already added this information to the article, but even before that, searching Google for
"okra greens" or "okra leaves" would have revealed the answer. Or you could have checked "what links
here" to see a link from List of plants with edible leaves.

Eat your greens and be healthy. (Okragreens 22:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC) )

Fried okra, done correctly (as I will elucidate on in a moment) is quite good. It is crunchy, has a taste
entirely it's own and goes well with other foods. Too many psuedo-southern restaurants serve fried okra
that has been battered. Done that way, it's nothing more than boiled okra with a breading shell around
it. That is not the correct way to cook it. Okra pods, about the size of an adults middle finger at harvest
(cut the stem with a knife to harvest)are cut into 1/4" transverse slices. They can then be dropped in a
quart food storage bag containing 1/2 cup ( or any other amount you wish) of a corn meal, seasoned
with salt, and the bag zipped closed and shaken vigorously to make sure the corn meal comes into
contact with all sides of the sliced okra. The slime from the interior of the okra slices causes the corn
meal/salt mixture to aadhere to the slices. Remove the okra from the bag and fry in a large diameter
pan in enough pre-heated peanut oil to cover the slices when laid flat. Fry until golden brown (about 5
minutes). Quickly remove from pan and place on a paper towel covered plate to allow excess oil to
drain. Salt to taste, if needed (very subjective on the amount of salt needed) and eat immediately. If left
to get cold, slices become limp. Crisp tastes better. This recipe, or actually, cooking method came from
my Grandmother, Mamie Stephens Williams, Social Circle, Georgia, circa 1930's. Jody E. Huneycutt,
Ellijay, GA. My source is personal experience and 60 years of eating okra cooked this way. —Preceding

CONCLUSION

I. GATHERING OF MATERIALS
Lady fingers(abelmoschus esculentus) will be bought from
an agricultural mart in Cabanatuan city. Gathering other
ingredients like: baking soda, peppermint, coconut oil, and
salt will be from General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija.
II. EXPERIMENTATION
Like the literal process of making toothpaste, we mixed
it all in one bowl and add this so called special ingredient
lady fingers.
III. FLOCCULATION ASSAY
First we must collect all the things and materials
needed. Then mix it on a bowl. Blend the lady fingers and
powder its seeds before putting it on a bowl. Stir it slowly
and carefully. Then leave it for a minute then it’s done.
IV. OBSERVATION
We will be going to observe if the texture of the
toothpaste will change. Does it have a negative reaction on
the neutralization process?
V. EFFECTITIVY TEST
Sampling will be the sample of the study. This is for
the sake of other people.
CONCLUSION
These processes state that, okra has the accurate
capability to help the structure of toothpaste. It has the
ability to make our teeth whiter and stronger. This is because
of its 40% VITAMIN C content that can help to strengthen our
teeth. This statement is according to (ARIZONA EDUCATION)

VII. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

POSSIBILITY CHART

Final
3rd try
2nd try
1st try
This chart represents the percentage of possibilities on the
product being produced by the researchers. Now as you can see at
the first try, possibilities to succeed are at risk, as well as
with the second. But on the third try, possibilities are great.
It’s kind of a risky plan. These just blow the researchers minds
so that they came up through the idea of combining every other
possibility gathered. Unexpectedly, for the final try the product
works and sparks the researchers to what it resulted.

VIII. CONCLUSION
The researchers came up with the idea of creating something
new. Lady fingers toothpaste is a product that will help you to
whiten and strengthens your teeth. The main ingredients of this
product are lady fingers which came out of nowhere. The
researchers believe that these lady fingers can do and build
more spark and uniqueness to the product. As part of this study,
the researchers conducted a numbers of theories about the
different ingredients of this product. Ensuring that every other
method conducted will work, and has its own part and role on the
product. Baking soda has the ability to freshen the user’s mouth
and this serves as the base of the toothpaste. Salt has the
ability to remove stains from the teeth. The mineral helps
strengthen teeth and rebuild enamel. Peppermint is excellent in
cleaning properties. Antibacterial and anti-microbial action.
Suitable for people with bleeding gums. Coconut oil has been
getting a lot of attention lately, and for good reason. There
also been claims that it can clean and whitens your teeth, while
helping to prevent tooth decay. Lady Fingers has the ability on
repairing tissues including: skin, teeth, and bones.
Additionally, vitamin C is an antioxidant, which neutralizes
free radicals that can accumulate in the body and often lead to
aging and some diseases.

IX. RECOMMENDATION
The researchers are recommending this lady fingers product,
because it contains all the needs of our mouth, and the
researchers are ensuring that every other ingredients of
toothpaste has its own main role, especially the special
ingredient which is okra.

Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled brush. The

size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth allowing you
to reach all areas easily.
Replace your toothbrush every three or four months or sooner if
the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won’t do a good job
of cleaning your teeth.
The proper brushing technique is to:
Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums.
Gently move the brush back and forth in short (tooth-wide)
strokes.

The Researchers

ABSTRACT
Lady fingers toothpaste came out of nowhere. But the
researchers pursue on making plan on it. That’s why the
researchers came up with the idea of making it one of the
main ingredients of toothpaste. It will make the user’s
teeth whiter and stronger. This is because there are some
various parts of the okra that has antibacterial and one cup
of okra contains almost 40% of the daily value of vitamin c,
which is essential for normal growth and development in the
body. It plays an important role in maintaining and repairing
tissues, including: skin, teeth, and bones. With this, the
researchers are sure that okra is really capable as one
of the main ingredients of toothpaste. This study
concludes many possibilities. It is also at risk, but the
researchers never gave up. They continue to think of an
idea that will definitely make the product work. This
product is responsible for ensuring the health of our
mouth; especially because every other ingredient stands
a major role in toothpaste. But all these hardships will
soon pay off, as the researchers succeeded with the
product, lady fingers toothpaste. This would help not
only the researchers, but also the users or the people
who will use the product. The researchers can say that
the product is effective and valuable. Okra has those
special abilities mentioned above. This study proves that
every other thing has its own special ability, its own
kind of uniqueness. Hardships, and risky possibilities
