Application with Nespri-TEC is at least twice
as fast as with the roller alone. Two to three
specialists are sufficient for façade work; this
creates capacities for additional objects. On
top of that, the painter is spared the need to

the "recoating" with the airless device is
much cleaner and more even than by hand.
While the development of airless devices
was already a milestone, the current market
launch of nano-quartz grid technology marks
the beginning of an era that could
revolutionize the trade. Chemist Dr. Stefan

summarizes the most important features of the
new generation of facade paints: "Up to now,

Naturally greying
Back to the vision of the silver-grey mountain

Why dream? Objects in which wood is
supposed to naturally turn grey provide
information about this. It turns out that the
greying process takes many years and only
takes place in the directly weathered areas. At
first, the south and southwest orientation turns
grey the fastest. Some of the orientations to
the east or north take much longer.

Waterborne paints: New airless spray guns with the right accessories for
excellent results – by Bernhard Linck

The first airless spray guns were used more

for high-viscosity coating materials and
large-area applications. Painting was
carried out with compressed air, HVLP or
compressed air-assisted spraying processes
(AirCoat). However, airless spraying
technology has developed considerably in
recent years. Today, handy and powerful
devices are available with which
particularly water-thinnable paints can be
painted with perfect surface quality. All
Caparol application technicians who have
been trained in the use of new airless spray
guns have recently been able to see this for
themselves.

Excellent design competence

FantasticFleece successful
The readers of the wholesale and retail magazine "eurodecor" have decided: The "Best
product in terms of saleability" is called "FantasticFleece". They justified the decision for
the Caparol surface technique with the very special effects that FantasticFleece creates in
connection with glazes. Refined depth effect and transparent multi-layered effect due to
unique glaze application enable a unique appearance. The award is further proof of the
colour manufacturer's claim to be an innovation leader in design competence. Product
managers Ernst Hübner and Ute Schader from the Caparol Press Department were
therefore delighted when they received the certificate from "eurodecor" editor Alexander
Radziwill. At the award ceremony, Hübner referred to the first reactions to the product
launch during the international "Paint - Finishing and Facade" trade fair last year in
Cologne. "We immediately realized what a promising product we offer with Fantastic
Fleece. The sales figures impressively reflect this." The "eurodecor" editorial team
conducted its fourth trading survey on the best-selling product last year. Readers were The different spray angles of the nozzles are

engineers achieved a very good painting
result on the pre-painted filling doors after
a short inauguration. The surfaces were
flawless. Due to the lack of dilution, the

high painting safety, even for less
experienced spray painters. The low spray
mist formation was particularly surprising.

For a creative processing company such as Malerwerkstatt Rust, the wish of the client was both an obligation
and an incentive to present an extraordinary design idea and to implement it with the highest level of
craftsmanship.

Innovative design software

In March, Caparol received an award for its SPECTRUM 3.0
design software at the 2008 Innovation Prize. More than 1,600
products, solutions and services were submitted to the Initiative
Mittelstand competition. With Spectrum 3.0 Caparol has the
options for the design of facades and interiors.
The user has a marketing tool with a unique selling point at his disposal. The low-cost
purchase and one-day training courses throughout Germany guarantee customer-oriented
advice. The DVD enables a holistic interior design which, in addition to colours and
structures, includes a variety of materials for floors such as carpet, linoleum and parquet
and includes fabrics for curtains, furniture and interior profiles. Apart from a large image
database, facades and interiors can be photographed by customers, prepared according
to individual wishes and printed out for presentation, sent digitally or shown in a slide
show. After the software was also in great demand abroad, a multilingual version was
