Listen. The party has begun and you, too, have been
invited. Have a seat and get comfortable. Unfortunately,
you won’t be able to ask any questions. Just listen carefully.
Should you have any, those questions will most likely be
answered in time. James shall begin very shortly right after
some necessary information for you to think about as the
story progresses.
CHAPTER I
“It’s the seats near the wings. I’ve always heard it’s
the strongest part of the airplane.”
A questioning look came to Bob’s face. “The
strongest part of the airplane?”
* * * * *
The plane had been aloft for just over two hours when
Bob turned to his right and looked out the window. He was
sitting in the seat right behind his friend. “Farley. Check out
your window. Looks like one wingding dilly of a storm,
coming up from the south. And look at all that lightning.”
* * * * * * * * * *
“Okay. Okay. So, you got me. Now, get that chair
over there and let’s try this thing.”
‘VERY OLD’.
* * * * * * * * * *
James took a drink of his cocktail, smiled and shook
his head. “If you’re curious, we did go to the grocery store
the next day. There was no sign of the gypsy folks in the
parking lot.”
Everyone chuckled.

They both left the room and walked down the hall to
the party.
They both grabbed a soft drink and went out onto the
front porch. David revealed all Lorie had told him.
* * * * * * * * * *
James took the last sip of his cocktail and set it on the
nearby table just as Albert delivered a fresh one. James
smiled at him. “Thank you, Albert.”
* * * * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * * *
“Yes. Life was good for the both of us. I was doing
very well and making my clients quite happy with their
investments. Even David wanted me to invest his savings.
We were both doing very well.”
Albert shook his head. “Okay. I’ll tell you but you
must promise not to laugh.”
“If you don’t have plans for tomorrow, why don’t you
come over tonight and we can try?” James suggested.
* * * * * * * * * *
“I must tell you. We all went home that night and got
out the Ouija board. Strangely enough, we were going to
discover something interesting about Ishmael.”
* * * * * * * * * *
David sat at the end of the table and Albert and James
on either side, facing one another.
‘CORRECT’.
“Why?”
“It was the spring when David was called into the
office of his boss. They’d finally put the puzzle together and
realized David was gay. This didn’t sit well with upper
management and he was terminated. After that happened, we
began to have concern for Albert. You all know the problems
with many companies and their position on homosexuality. I
always found it so interesting they would turn a blind eye
when it came to adultery, hanky-panky and such by their
employees. But oohh. Homosexuality was a definite firing
offense. Yeah. We can’t have those damn fucking queers
around, giving the company a bad name. Fucking
hypocrites. I was lucky. The company I work for isn’t
concerned about my sexuality. All they’re interested in is my
performance. They know I’m a superb employee and
making the company a handsome sum every year.”

After signing in, the desk clerk told David the bellboy
would take his things to the room. It was right next to the
one he’d arranged for Ricardo. David smiled. “Thank you
very much. Please, give this to the bellboy when he returns.”
He handed the clerk some currency, having about the value
of a dollar. “Do you have a safe here for your guests?”
Everyone laughed.
“I’ll tell the front desk any charges on your room will
be paid by me. I wasn’t sure if that was clear to them.”
* * * * *
* * * * *
For two weeks, the boat trip went up the Rio Negro
and back, stopping several times along the way. Ricardo
would lead David into the jungle to show him several sites of
interest.
* * * * *
* * * * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * * *
For the next almost two hours, David told the story of
James and himself through the years. Ricardo was totally
surprised by Ishmael’s predictions coming true. What really
shocked him was the winning of the lottery, using the
information Ishmael had given them.

David thanked Juan and his crew for all they’d done
and paid them the full amount they’d have received for the
entire trip upriver. Juan was very thankful and told David
he’d be of service to him in the future should the occasion
ever arise.

“It was perfect for them to spend three days there and
venture into the valley below. This was the valley between
the mountain ranges, containing the tributary they’d planned
to traverse in the motorboat.”
“The next two days, all three just sat around, relaxing
and discussing the next trip to the mountains. On this next
trip, they’d land in the mountains east of the valley they saw
on their last trip. They decided to stay another three days.”
* * * * *
* * * * *
David shook his head. “I’ll tell you but I can see
there’s much to understand here. Ricardo needs to let Miguel
know we’re all right.”
* * * * *
* * * * *
After everyone ate, they all went out and sat on the
outdoor patio for a while. Eventually, all returned to their
rooms to get some rest. The previous days had been quite
exhausting.
David set the towel on the nearby chair and got in his
bed. “Muraroot. Goodnight, my friend. Sleep well. This
should be a big difference from the palm leaves you’re used
to.”
Muraroot clapped his hands. “Yes. It is very
comfortable. Very nice. I like it.”

After breakfast the next day, all gathered in Ken’s
room. Each had brought a chair from their own rooms, so
they could sit down.
From that night forward, the love they felt and shared
would grow stronger and lasting.
CHAPTER XII
“It was the first time we played with the Ouija board.
Yeah. There was something about doing it that seemed to
change my life.”
David, Ricardo and Miguel looked at one another but
said nothing.
“That’s about it. Kevin and I got out the Ouija board
several times and Ishmael basically told us the same things.
After Kevin left for California, I never got out the board
again.”

Michael called out. “Well, I’m sure glad his name is
Mason Farley and not Mother Fucker like YOU thought it
might be.” He looked right at James with a Cheshire grin on
his face.
* * * * * * * * * *
“Wow. Okay. Will check into this for you. I’ll let
you know as soon as I find out something. How’s your
money holding out? You need me to wire you any?”
“She said she couldn’t see into it but she knew I was
going to be all right on the other side. I know I must find out
and do it.”

The plane had been aloft for just over two hours when
Bob turned to his right and looked out the window. “Farley.
Check out your window. Looks like one wingding dilly of a
storm, coming up from the south. And look at all the
lightning.”
I got up, grabbed Rick off the floor and put him back
in his seat again. Made sure he was buckled in tight. I told
Bob I thought he’d be okay and started to return to my seat.
Just then, the plane tossed violently, throwing me up against
the ceiling then back down onto the floor. My head hit pretty
hard, causing me to yell really loud.

After they all got signed in, Ralph went out to the
front doorman and directed him to the rooms they’d be
staying in. The doorman would bring their luggage up
immediately. He rejoined the rest who were waiting for him.
Fred made a fist and thrust his right arm into the air.
“Perfect!”
