Lamp (1) is green.
 Leaving the worker platform must be acknowledged by the
operator on panel "Worker platform" (2).

Start dialog for automatic cycle

Prerequisites
 Operating mode selected and activated
 System in home position

Function keys
» F4: Hold dialog
Actuation of [F4] holds the current dialog until
renewed actuation of [F4].
» F5: Options
Opening the dialog for selection/deselection of
test options
» F10: Login
Opening the login dialog
» F11: Language
Opening the dialog for language change

Selection/deselection of test options

Prerequisites
 Dialog can be opened by actuating [F5] any
time.

Work sequence
» Select or deselect the required option by
actuating the relevant function button.
» [PgUp] or [PgDn] can be used to change
between dialog pages.
Selected options are marked by white bar.

Info
Change of options during a vehicle test will be active as of next cycle.

Driving in the vehicle

Prerequisites
 Entrance traffic light is green
 Message appearing in the status line
 Dialog of the master panel

Work sequence
» Drive the vehicle onto the test stand slowly
(walking speed)
» Front vehicle wheels must be between
rollers of the front floating plate
» Shift the gearbox to idling mode, release the
hand brake
» Vehicle identification through light barrier

» Acknowledge the selected type by [T1] or

» Adjust the wheelbase.

Installing the steering-wheel balancer

Work sequence
» Take the steering-wheel balancer from the
support.
» Install the balancer on the steering-wheel.

Info
Installation of the steering-wheel balancer
switches it on automatically (measuring
mode).

Test module: Multipoint measurement

Info
Measuring the vehicle geometrye (toe / camber)

Work sequence
 Wheel turned through roller motors.
 Measured values recorded during 1 ½ wheel rotations
(rim runout compensation)
 Check of the steering-wheel balancer during measured
value acquisition
Multipoint measurement will be restarted if values are out
of tolerance.
 Stop of roller motors.
 Storage of measured values.
 Display of measured values.

Test module: Levelling (optional)


Info
Levelling the steering-wheel in the center of steering
backlash

Work sequence
 Positioning device turning the front wheels in both
directions.
Steering-wheel is turning also.
 Several repetitions of this procedure with constantly
reducing amplitude.
Final turning within the range of steering backlash only.
Steering-wheel is not moving any longer.
 Check of the steering-wheel position.
 Repetition of levelling in the case of NOK result.

Wichtig!
The steering-wheel must not be turned after levelling!

Test module: Rear axle alignment

Info
Setting toe / camber values on the rear axle

Work sequence
 Release of floating plates and braking on the left-hand
side
 Display of current values on the monitor in the test
stand pit.
 Release of access to the worker platform.
 Luminous button [End of Setting] is flashing.
» Axle alignment by the worker until all values are in the
green range.
» Alignment acknowledged by the worker actuating
luminous button [End of Setting].

Test module: Front axle alignment

Adjusting the toe / camber values of front axles

Work sequence
 Release of floating plates, braking the rear axle.
 Display of current values on the monitor in the test
stand pit.
 Release of access to the worker platform.
 Luminous button [End of setting] is flashing.
» Axle alignment by the worker until all values are in the
green range.
» Alignment acknowledged by the worker actuating
luminous button [End of Setting].

 Release of floating plates, braking the rear axle.
» Removal of the steering-wheel balancer.
 Switching on the measuring sensors.
» Turning the steering-wheel in required direction.
 Direction of turning indicated on the monitor and
"Start" panel of the test stand.
 Calculation, storage and display of values for camber
and kingpin inclination.

Work sequence
» Removal of the steering-wheel balancer, if installed.
 Positioning of the vehicle.
» Turning the steering-wheel in required direction.
 Direction of turning indicated on the monitor and "Start"
operator panel of the test stand.
 Calculation, storage and display of values for caster and
kingpin inclination.

Test module: Caster measurement (x-contour) - 2

Recording toe/camber values in three different steering-wheel positions (angle ~ 5°)

Work sequence
 Start of multipoint measurement.
 1st measuring point is recorded (0°).
» Left-hand turn of the steering-wheel until "Stop" is lit.
 2nd measuring point is recorded.
» Right-hand turn of the steering-wheel until "Stop" is lit.
 3rd measuring point is recorded.
» Left-hand turn of the steering-wheel until "Stop" is lit.
 End of multipoint measurement.
 Calculation, storage and display of values for caster and kingpin inclination.

Test module: Check of steer angle

Definition of max. steer angle

Work sequence
» Removal of the steering-wheel balancer, if installed.
» Turning the steering-wheel in required direction.
 Direction of turning displayed on the monitor and "Start"
operator panel of the test stand.
 Steer angle values are defined through encoders
integrated into the floating plates.
 Storage and display of values.

Lateral movement of the vehicle during steering-wheel


motion are measured by laser and considered in the
result.
