My junior year I joined a class that was called plant and soil and in that

class we went to the garden and cleaned up, watered the plants etc. we not

only did that but we also planted all sorts of vegetables, fruits and flowers.

Our class constantly were building things that bettered our environment.

We built a vertical hydroponic system which requires no soil and the plants

grow on clay balls. In the plant in soil class we were also in charge of

collecting all the recycling bins throughout the school and sorting out all the

recyclables and taking out any trash that did not belong in there. This was

very rewarding for me because I knew I wasn’t only making an important

impact in my school but for my community and environment as well.
