Enjoy YOROCONTE PRIVATE RESERVE on a neartly two full day hike plus
overnight camping in the tropical rain forest. Yoroconte is a brand new Private
Reserve with beautiful water falls and crystal clear streams surrounded by
exuberant tropical vegetation. We might be so lucky as to spot monkeys, coatis,
anteaters and other mammals during our hike. Birds are very abondant early in the
morning and in the late afternoon. Your visit will help us preserve this little paradise
connected to Nombre de Dios Mountain Range,

Day 1: Leaving at 8:00 am from La Ceiba we drive the dirt road along
Cangrejal River for 40 minutes, up to the river crossing point where
the trail begins past the bridge “Las Mangas”. Once on the other
shore we continue uphill through farms and some deforested and
transitional areas until we get into the primary forest. We are going to
hike from 140 meters above sea level to about 700 m. We eat our
cold lunch en route. At dinner time we shall be cooking our own meal
with fire wood once we set up our campsite on this privileged spot.
Depending on the weather we should not miss the chance to refresh
ourselves by bathing in the fresh clean waters of the creek “Puerto
Barrios”.

Day 2: We wake up surrounded by the jungle sounds and cook our breakfast.
We are ready to go hike then. We carry no gear in order to explore
deeper into the rainforest not far from the creek. Two or three hours
later we put our tents down and we start our return downhill to the
road.(1.5 HRS.) where we meet up with our truck that will take us
back into La Ceiba. We eat our cold lunch before departure or we
save it for the hike back.

Includes: Transportation from La Ceiba, 4 MEALS, nature bilingual guide,
entrance fee, first aid kits, communication, tents, thermarest,
water purification system. We bring light food and gear. Please
