Elephant ride

As we informed you in our previous email, it is not possible to do Elephant ride

even we reverse the route as it has been booked for all schedules in July by other
guests. For you to know Tangkahan has only 6 Elephants and at the moment
available for ride only 5 Elephants. There are many guests and agents have
booked this activity in advance. Therefore we can only provide you Elephant
bathing activity.

We have rechecked your new schedules and still available for the following
hotels:
16/7 - 18/7 Jungle Lodge, Tangkahan (1 big family room available for 4 persons)
18/7 - 20/7 Jungle Inn, Bukit Lawang (2 honeymoon suite room)
To avoid the above hotels are fullybooked, we have booked and confirmed the
room as per your schedules above.

Please see below the revised program with price as you mentioned for additional
trekking in Tangkahan and Bukit Lawang.

16/7 Arrive – Tangkahan / 5 hrs drive

Arrive at the Kuala Namu International Airport with flight... at...
We will fetch you and directly depart to Tangkahan, the Elephant lodge which
takes around 5 hours. Arrive in Tangkahan you cross the Batang River by local raft
or by new bridge to your lodge inn.
Upon arrival you will make a gentle one hour ride through the river and into the
jungle. You will end this activity at the Elephant camp where you can join with
mahout to wash the Elephants.
The rest is your own program. You can walk along the bank of the Buluh River, is
to see thousand beautiful butterflies by the river, visiting and bathing at the small
waterfall in the rainforest close to the river and or swimming in Buluh river itself.

17/7 Tangkahan – jungle trekking

After breakfast you will make a full day (6 hrs) jungle trekking in Tangkahan.
Steep, slopes and dense vegetation will bring you to the excitement of the
Sumatra rainforest.
Here youhave the opportunity to see several species of indigenous flora and faun
a. Walkers must be fit and have suitable, large profile shoes. In the afternoon
return to your lodge for overnight stay.

Remarks:
4Elephant ride is not available on Friday
4Accommodations in Tangkahan are basic, built with simple materials to keep in
harmony with nature. Electricity run by own generator and not available after
22:00 pm. Room is equipped with mosquito net and has own bathroom which
comes with shower with cold water (no hot water).

18/7 Tangkahan - Bukit Lawang / 2,5 – 3 hrs drive

In the morning you depart to by 4x4 Jeep to Bukit Lawang passing through
plantations and dense jungle. On the way, stop at oil-palm, rubber and cacao
plantations, as well as schools! The drive takes around 3 hours passing, partially
off-road and passes several interesting places where stunning panoramas can be
witnessed.
Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, you need to walk for around 20 - 30 minutes to
reach your hotel. You walk through the trek on the banks of the river.
2 overnight stays in Jungle Inn (honeymoon suite room)

19/7 Bukit Lawang

In the morning you visit the feeding platform to see the Orangutan while being
fed and prepared for release back into their natural habitat. The excursion starts
with a short walk along the river bank and crossing the river with rubber boat or
traditional canoe, continuing the hike amidst the thick and hilly bushes until you
reach at the plat-forms where regularly, twice a day at 8.am and 3.pm. After that
you continue with a 6 hours jungle trekking. Steep, slopes and dense vegetation
will bring you to the excitement of the Sumatra rainforest. Here you have the
opportunity to see several species of indigenous flora and fauna. Walkers must be
fit and have suitable, large profile shoes.
When you return from jungle trekking, you may stop again at the feeding
platform to see the 2nd feeding at 3.pm.

Remarks:
- Those who bring camera/video in the Orangutan site will be charged
additional US$ 6.00 for camera and US$ 18.00 for video
- Mostly people can meet the Orangutans at the feeding platform. But
it is not 100% guarantee that you can see the Orangutans at the feeding
platform. Sometimes the Orangutans do not want to go down to feeding
platform cause of fruits season in the jungle. In this case they like more
stay deep in the jungle than go down to the feeding platform. So this is a
natural reason and we can’t do anything with this case.

20/7 Bukit Lawang – airport / 3,5 – 4 hrs drive

In the morning you still have chance to visit the Orangutans feeding platform for
morning schedule at 8.am. After seeing the Orangutans, you return to hotel.
After lunch time you drive back the airport for catch your flight to next
destination. End of your trip through us.
