Autobiography Island

Examples

An autobiography is a story about a person written by that same person. You are going
to create an island that tells the story of who you are.

The shape of your island should be the shape of the letter that begins your first name. I
am a teacher, so I don’t have a first name. My last name is Morris so I would use an
“M.”

The geography on your island should include the following:

❖ Activities
❖ Hobbies
❖ Skills
❖ Family Members
❖ Pets
❖ Mountains- High points in your life (favorite memory, favorite vacation etc)
❖ Valleys- Low points in your life (death of a loved one or pet, parent’s divorce etc)
❖ Compass Rose
➢ North- guiding quote
➢ East - people that guide you or you strive to be like
➢ West- favorite book/movie/tv character
➢ South- Dream Job
❖ Rivers- where are you from?
➢ What journeys have you been on that have shaped you?
❖ Anything else that I may need to know that has shaped you and brought you
here.

Your map should have more symbols and pictures than words and descriptions.
