e scale exercises
Why practi
1. The deliberate practice of scale exercises helps one acquire agility, and evenness
in playing. A reliable technique develops when the fingers are methodically
exercised in all key patterns.
2. Scale practice can facilitate the clean execution of awkward fingerings.
The
awareness of tonality, as well as the intonation and character of
clical practice of patterns through the various keys gives one a keen
ch different key.
4. Scales and arpeggios form the melodic framework for all tonal music. Practicing
scales prepares one more thoroughly for ease in playing repertoire.
5. The main purpose of practicing scales is to train the fingers to “think for them-
selves” and to free the mind for concentration on musical nuances and selected
technical difficulties.
