BACKGROUND
Mountaineering is one of the most interesting outdoor activities not just for its unique offering of cardio
exercise but because of the great scenery you will see and great people you will be meeting in the
mountain.

Here in Iriga City, where Mt. Asog is present, offers a great and challenging mountaineering experience
to those who visit and able to climb Mt. Asog because of its level of difficulty and the great scenery it
gives while you are at the peak.

Comes February, the Iriga City will celebrate its thanksgiving for great harvest, the Tinagba Festival. In
line with the activities for the said festival, the ASOG Mountaineers and Sinabukid Scout Mountaineer
will be conducting the Tinagba Festival Climb wherein we will be inviting outdoor enthusiast and
Mountaineers from Bicol Region especially here in Iriga City to gather and experience the greatness of
Mt. Asog.

PURPOSE
 The event will be a fund raising activity to purchase a RAIN WATER RECOVERY SYSTEM to be
given to a selected Barangay or School here in Iriga City that is in need or lack in water supply.
 To provide environmental awareness by amercing the participants on real situation of the
mountain.
 To promote mountaineering and outdoor activities.
 The activity will also serve as a CLEAN-UP CLIMB where participants during the decent will be
conducting a clean-up drive to remove all the trash that had been left by indiscriminate
climbers.

ILIAN TRAIL - Offers the great experience of Mt. Asog because of its trilling terrain and the majestic view
while it’s on peak, the trail is not recommended for novice climber because of its level of difficulty plus
that you have to carry with you a minimum of 4L of water because their no water supply on the trail. the
trail is limited to 35 climbers only.

PASTO TRAIL – a trail suited for beginners in mountaineering because of its easy terrain, but don’t
underestimate, Pasto trail offers the majestic view of the Crater and its Rim side of Mt. Asog that is full
of local pine trees and also the presence of the rare flower Rafflesia, we can also see the mythical Stone
of Sarikaw that is said to be a Hunter and his dog curse into a Stone.
