What I want to know more about is why the human race is so selfish and why they feel

no remorse for animals dying. From a young age I have always had a love for all types of

animals and I love learning about them. Even if they are exotic or an everyday animal. What

caused me to want to know more is how sad it is that the human race contributes largely to the

extinction of such beautiful animals that do no harm to us. From pollution, deforestation, and

trophy hunting the human race is the reason animals keep going extinct.

This book discusses the links between forests and climate, describing the characteristics

of the major forest biomes, with an overview of deforestation causes and the impacts with

approaches to reduce deforestation. Global climate change is a widespread and growing concern

that has led to extensive congressional, international discussions, and negotiations. Reducing

deforestation to lower CO2 emissions is seen as one of the least costly methods of severe climate

Change.

The purpose of this article is to raise awareness of climate change and the way it is

affecting wildlife in more ways than one. This piece was written for conservationist and people

wanting to learn the reasons climate change is having an effect of the way things are living. Its

an overview of deforestation and the impacts/approaches to reducing deforestation.

Dianna M. Argonne is the author of this book on climate change and deforestation.

This book is reliable because it is published by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. and is also

published inside the sinclair library database which means it has been fact checked as well as it is

seen as a substantial piece of work.

This book will help me answer the questions I have on why deforestation is happening so

quickly. As well as why climate change is affecting the way wildlife live differently because of

it. How and why humans overlook simple everyday things that contribute to climate change and

deforestation.

Human population growth is the principal driver of the global extinction crisis. The loss of

animal species is not seen as a serious matter. The world's wild animals will decline in number

by two-thirds by 2020. Of the 85,000 species listed by the IUCN, more than 24,000 are in

danger, including lions, rhinos and giraffes, whose numbers have fallen by nearly 40 per cent

since 1985. We seem to have accepted the idea that the loss of wild animals because we do not

want to stop doing things the way we see right.

This article is written to inform the public that animals are going extinct at a

faster rate because the human population keeps growing and taking over their habitats. With the

economic growth, we will destroy ecosystems. The audience this article is trying to reach is the

mass public because the awareness of animal extinction isn't seen as something very important

when it should be.

This article is written by Simon Barnes, who is published by New Statesman Ltd. This

article is reliable because it is published to a scholar library like sinclairs library database.

I will use this article to show how the human race is making it impossible for animals to

live the way they want to be lived. As well as have statistics that show the crazy decline in

extinction of certain species due to humans.

Geographic, National Geographic Society, 31 Mar. 2018,

news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/03/sudan-last-male-northern-white-rhino-extinct-spd/

This article is about the last male northern white rhino who died on March 20th.

Him being the last male means that once the last two females die the entire species will be

extinct. This article gives a run down of what happened to the last male in the wildlife sanctuary.

It gives statistics of what is happening to other rhino species as well as what they plan to do to

keep them safe.

The article is very reliable because it is sourced on the National Geographic website

which is a prestigious organization that brings many conservationist issues to the spotlight. The

audience it intends to reach is the mass media so that all the public can see what is happening to

the most beautiful and harmless animals.

I will use this article to show one of the most recent extinctions is coming soon. This is

due to the human race and if continued there will be many more species extinct in the coming

years. This will answer my question because it is one of my main point i want to hit in my

research paper with is extinction due to trophy hunting/poaching.

Many whale species are endangered as well as have many dangerous obstacles that occur

when they are in their own habitat due to careless human behavior. Like the climate change as

well as fisherman nets that catch them without meaning to as well as people who hunt them and

also people litter all over beaches and some whales consume plastic thinking its their food.

The meaning of this article is to inform the outside world that human actions are the

cause of the rapid decline in whale species. This article is aimed at people that are living closer

to oceans and bodies of water. Informing these people will help them take action in their

communities and keep litter out of the water as well as protest against people hunting whales as

well as keep them from being tangled in fishing nets.

I like this article because it shows a whole other aspect from land animals but all the

same issues are happening on land as the are at sea. The Washington Post is a source used by

americans everyday for new events that the public should know about the author is Sarah Kaplan

and she is a published writer for several other organizations.

Madden, Paul. “Extinction.” Salem Press Encyclopedia of Science, 2018. EBSCOhost,

The implications of mass extinctions are profound. As an overwhelming mass of

evidence seems to show, the activities of humankind are a major cause of recent extinctions.

Those activities may soon lead to an ecological disaster of gigantic proportions. No matter how

well adapted to its environment a species may be, survival would be largely a matter of chance.

The importance of this article brings attention to how climate change is affecting many

species and cause mass extinctions sooner or later. This article is focused towards students as

well as conservationists. This piece is reliable because it is published in a scholar library archive.

It also has an author as well as a publisher and the date it was published.

I will use this article to keep my research credible as well as keeping my question in

mind. The human race is the cause of extinctions and this will further help my research because

that what this article is aimed towards.

This video shows one of the rarest primates on earth,to the most endangered marine

mammal in the world. It shows eleven of the most critically endangered animals. It gives
Malott 6

statistics on how rapid their endangerment is going and some closer to extinction than others.

This video shows the many reasons humans are contributing to the endangerment of many

species. From trophy hunting to the economic growth that overgrows into animals habitats.

This video is addressing the mass audience that wants to learn about endangered species.

The video is reliable because it is published to a certified youtube channel. As well as it has

content that matches with other articles that I have read before watching it.

I will use this video for its statistics and reasoning on why species are becoming

endangered at alarming rates. Humans are making these animals go extinct because of trophy

hunting and humans expanding into animal habitats this will help me answer my main question

on how humans contribute to extinction of species all over the world.
