The crevice appeared after landowners heard a loud boom between 8 and
9 a.m. Monday, followed by the ground shaking for a few seconds. The
landowners later found a large crevice south of their Menominee Township
home Tuesday.
Residents are speculating what could have caused the mysterious
occurrence.
...My initial reaction was that the U.S. administration would be forced to
evacuate the residents of the Gulf states to areas more than 200 miles
from the coast in order to preserve life. A tentative date for the FEMA
evacuation was put forth as late August. My current thinking is that
evacuation may be able to be avoided. Failure to evacuate guarantees that
massive numbers of Gulf citizens will die from oil, hexane and methane
exposure. Exposure to Aromatic Polycyclic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) from oil
are capable of damaging every organ in the human body.
"...If the number of persons dying in Gulf States from illnesses arising from
exposure to oil keeps steadily rising there is no reason to think this rising
death rate would force FEMA to do anything. The steady increase in
deaths will not get publicity, some people will voluntarily move away to a
healthier state and the Gulf States will steadily have a lower number of
citizens."
I’ve mentioned many times before that this spurious CSM under the quise
of Spiritual Formation, with it’s main vehicle of Contemplative/Centering
Prayer (CCP)—meditation in an altered state of consciousness—was a
core doctrine from the EC’s evil inception. What I’m about to show you
here from Peter Scazzero is simply another example of just how far this
romanticized version of anti-sola Scriptura CSM has penetrated the
mainstream of the church visible, and, what happens when one continues
these spurious spiritual practices long enough to anger the Lord.
Earlier I showed you that in SBC Protestant Pastor Rick Warren Double-
Minded On The Reformation And Roman Catholicism that, for all intents
and purposes, Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren is about as Protestant as
Pope Benedict XVI himself. Then in Rick Warren And Peter Scazzero Up
To Monk-ee Business I reminded you that at his conference Radicalis last
February at Saddleback Church, which also featured Mark Driscoll, Perry
Noble, and Andy Stanley, Warren pronounced his PDL blessing upon an
“evangelical” CSM guru by the name of Peter Scazzero.
You might remember that in an email promoting that conference, Chat Live
with Radicalis Speaker, Pete Scazzero, Wednesday, December 9 at 11 am
pst, Warren told us:
Pete, along with his wife, Geri, are co-founders of Emotionally Healthy
Spirituality, a groundbreaking ministry that integrates emotional health and
contemplative spirituality to pastors, leaders and local churches. (On file at
AM, emphasis mine)

John Piper claimed he was "going to go after Rick Warren" with 13 pages
of questions regarding the Purpose Driven Life. Piper gushes over Rick
Warren's ability to quote scripture to the point that Piper wanted to "just
quit", apparently out of some intense personal sense of inadequacy.
The reality is John Piper and Rick Warren are aligning their efforts, as
Warren announced that the 2011 Desiring Gospel conference would be
held at Saddleback Church.
Who were the spectators in the stadium who witnessed the event?
Pastors, future pastors and laymen.
Is it possible that The Desiring God's Battle of the Mind was more a battle
of the hearts of the spectators? Was this event a cloaked recruiting drive to
siphon off attendees to expand Warren's network of franchises?
Warren kicks off the the campaign with Vision rallies. Listen to Rick talk
about Possessing Your Destiny:
" How you define life will determine your destiny... If you are going to
maximize your life, you have to understand these three principles:
life is a test
life is a trust
life is a temporary assignment
Warren's penchant for the law of attraction no doubt will under gird the
Decade of Destiny's multilevel marketing motivational speeches to woo
recruits, as those in attendance at the 2010 Desiring God conference.
Southern Baptist Seminary President Albert Mohler says the stretching and
meditative discipline derived from Eastern religions is not a Christian
pathway to God.
Mohler said he objects to "the idea that the body is a vehicle for reaching
consciousness with the divine."
Mohler said feedback has come through e-mail and comments on blogs
and other websites since he wrote an essay to address questions about
yoga he has heard for years.
"I'm really surprised by the depth of the commitment to yoga found on the
part of many who identify as Christians," Mohler said.
In closing, let me put forth the troubling idea that, thanks to Dr. John
Piper’s Desiring God 2010, a whole new audience is now being exposed to
Rick Warren’s particular brand of Christian narcissism…..with Dr. Piper’s
stamp of approval. And so I’ll ask a question I’ve asked before: how far
from orthodoxy does Rick Warren have to fall before Christian leaders will
begin to "mark him out" and separate from him (Romans 16:17) – rather
than continuing to give him a platform for teaching and preaching?
Apparently, to Dr. Piper’s mind, we’re nowhere close.
Again, I ask the question, what has been the opinions of the other
speakers at the conference, Albert Mohler, R.C. Sproul, Thabiti Anyabwile
and Francis Chan? Have they made any comments about Warren’s
invitation to the conference and his message?
Nothing happens till somebody starts dreaming. What we need today are
great dreamers.
Those words occur not on the website of some ‘best-life-now’ life coach,
but, rather surprisingly, in a post over at the Desiring God website:
The Battle for Your Mind (Desiring God 2010 National Conference)
There we are given the command to ‘Let God stretch your imagination’ and
told that ‘Nothing happens till somebody starts dreaming. What we need
today are great dreamers.’
Panel: Gov’t blocked worst-case oil spill figures, AP, October 6, 2010:
The White House blocked efforts by federal scientists to tell the public just
how bad the Gulf oil spill could have been…
BP’s drilling permit for the Macondo well originally estimated the worst
scenario to be a leak of 6.8 million gallons per day. In late April, the Coast
Guard and NOAA received an updated estimate of 2.7 million to 4.6 million
gallons per day. …
Fifteen months ago, Warren spoke to ISNA's annual convention with these
opening words: "As-salamu Alaykum. I come to you today deeply humbled
and honored by this invitation. I truly mean that. I applaud your courage for
inviting an Evangelical pastor. Thank you."
"...there’s a deeper connection here between Rick Warren and the Doctor
of Destiny Laverne Adams than immediately meets the eye. Pastrix Adams
is with an organization “under the direction of Bishop David Evans”; and
David Evans himself is a well known Word Faith heretic and regular on the
Trinity Broadcasting Network, a veritible haven of heresy.
And so, the convergence continues as alliances are being made among
people whom, just a few short years ago, we’d never even have imagined
would occur. Well, to paraphrase Dr. John Piper: I’m gonna need help to
know why we should feel anything but bad about his quite dubious
decision to expose Rick Warren to the Reformed camp when it patently
obvious that he promotes these kinds of false teachers."
POSTED BY WATCHER'S LAMP
As we assess the shape of the Christian faith today, rather than bringing in
people-pleasing pragmatists like Rick Warren to share his myths about the
Mind of God, I offer that instead we’d be much better off if we’d get back to
doing this:
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge
the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the
word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort,
with complete patience and teaching.

The chances that future generations will one day colonise the stars have
just got higher.
The planet lies in the star's 'Goldilocks zone' - the region in space where
conditions are neither too hot or too cold for liquid water to form oceans,
lakes and rivers.
