Starbucks Barista Saeco Espresso Machine Manual

on 16 oz mocha brew
Items Included:
Espresso Machine (Fully Assembled)
Coffee Basket
Three-Pronged Plug (Attached to Espresso Machine)

Items Required Not Included:


Espresso Scoop
Stainless Steel Pitcher
Measuring Cup
2 oz Shot Glass
14 oz of Milk
1 ½ oz Chocolate Syrup
16 oz Drinking Cup
Espresso Thermometer
Stirrer
3 Tbsp of Ground Espresso
Three-Pronged Outlet
Brewing Instructions:
Step 1: Plug the espresso machine into a three-pronged outlet
Step 2: Fill the water holding tank with water. Note: do not fill above the maximum water
level indicated on the water holding tank.

Step 3: Turn on the espresso machine by pressing the power button located under the
barista logo on the front of the espresso machine. When the green (ready) light comes on the
espresso machine will be ready to start the process.

Step 4: Insert the espresso basket into the holder and twist to the right to lock basket in
place.

Step 5: Press the steam button, then wait for the ready light to turn on.
Step 6: While waiting for ready light to turn on, fill stainless steel pitcher with 14 oz of milk
then insert espresso thermometer onto the pitcher.

Step 7: When the ready light comes on, insert stainless steel pitcher under the steam nozzle
until the tip of nozzle is submerged in the milk.

Step 8: Twist steam knob located on the left side of the espresso machine counter-
clockwise until the knob will no longer turn.

Step 9: After approximately 3 seconds rest stainless steel pitcher with steam nozzle inserted
on the inner-surface of espresso machine. Wait for espresso thermometer to display a temperature of
160°F.

Step 10: Twist steam knob clockwise until turned off.


Step 11: Place stainless steel pitcher on top surface of espresso machine to help maintain
temperature of steamed milk.

Step 12: Turn off the steam button and wait for ready light to come on.
Step 13: Place 2 oz shot glass under espresso basket then press brew button located above
the steam button, causing the espresso machine to brew hot water into the shot glass.

Step 14: Wait for 2 oz of water to accumulate in shot glass then press the brew button
again to cease brewing.

Step 15: Release brew basket by twisting the handle to the left.
CAUTION: Water is very hot

Step 16: Now empty water from brew basket and shot glass.
Step 17: Fill brew basket with 3 Tbsp of ground espresso and level grounds with handle of
coffee scoop. Then tamp espresso grounds with coffee scoop cover. (Tamp means to press)

Step 18: Wait for ready light to turn on, if not already on. Then reinsert brew basket into
holder and place 2 oz shot glass under brew basket. Now press the brew button to brew the
espresso into the shot glass and wait for 2 oz to accumulate. Then press the brew button
again to cease brewing.

Step 19: Press power button to turn off espresso machine.


Step 20: Pour 1 ½ oz of chocolate syrup into 16 oz drinking cup, then add espresso brew
into drinking cup, followed by steamed milk. Using a stirrer, stir the beverage together... And
enjoy!
