PROTOCOL FOR ISOLATION OF 3.3 KV 1UAA BOARD


I.GENERAL CHECKS

OUTGOING FEEDERS ON 1UAA BOARD

II. PROCEDURE FOR UNLOADING THE FEEDERS.


(Refer Annexure for schematics)

For Isolation of all 3.3 KV Drives

 Inform & take clearance from SCE for isolating drives.


 Isolate & rack out the corresponding breaker at UAA Board, switch off DC supply.

For Isolation of UAA SEC-A

If UAA Sec-A is charged through UAT-1A


 After Complete unloading of UAA SEC-A out going feeders.
 Trip the I/C breaker of UAA from UAT‐1A at UAA Board. Then switch off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UAA Board.
 Trip the breaker of UA board to UAT‐1A at UA Board. Then switch off DC supply, completely
rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UA Board.
 Insert Bus earthing truck (Arms of bus earthing truck on Top side) and close the truck for bus
earthing & Lock.
If UAA Sec-A is charged through Section B of UAA
 After Complete unloading of UAA SEC-A out going feeders.
 Trip the bus coupler-1 of UAA Sec-A at UAA Sec-A board. Then switch off off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker.
 Trip bus coupler-2 of UAA Sec-B at UAA Sec-B board. Then switch off off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UAA sec-b Board.
 Insert Bus earthing truck (Arms of bus earthing truck on Top side) and close the truck for bus
earthing & Lock.
For Isolation of UAA SEC-B
If UAA Sec-A is charged through UAT-1B
 After Complete unloading of UAA SEC-B out going feeders.
 Trip the I/C breaker of UAA from UAT‐1B at UAA Board. Then switch off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UAA Board.
 Trip the breaker of UB board to UAT‐1A at UB Board. Then switch off DC supply, completely
rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UB Board.
 Insert Bus earthing truck (Arms of bus earthing truck on Top side) and close the truck for bus
earthing & Lock.
If UAA Sec-A is charged through Section B of UAA
 After Complete unloading of UAA SEC-B out going feeders.
 Trip the bus coupler-2 of UAA SecB at UAA Sec-B board. Then switch off off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker.
 Trip bus coupler-1 of UAA Sec-A at UAA Sec-A board. Then switch off off DC supply,
completely rack out the breaker and lock the breaker at UAA sec-A Board.
 Insert Bus earthing truck (Arms of bus earthing truck on Top side) and close the truck for bus
earthing & Lock.

PROTOCOL FOR NORMALIZTION OF 3.3KV 1UAA BOARD

1 Take the clearance from shift charge engineer.
2 Ensure that PTW on the bus is cancelled and all other
cross PTWs are cancelled.
3 The following are to be observed after clearance for bus
charging
3a All panels at the back of the bus are closed and sealed
properly .
3b All the relays are there in their place
3c All the breakers of the outgoing bus are racked out
position.
4 Switch Off Earthing CB and remove from cubical

5 Request for Bus IR values in Mega Ohms

7 Check the breakers in test position for proper operation

8 Carry out the P&I checks

9 After written clearance in communication register,

NORMAL position and also rack in BUS PT panel

1b Close the I/C breaker of UAA from UAT‐1A at UA

2 Charging through Sec-A/Sec B

switch ON DC supply, and kept the breaker in
NORMAL position.
2b Rack in BUS PT panel.
2c Rack in the bus coup1er of other section, switch ON
DC supply, and kept the breaker in NORMAL position.
2d After confirmation from SCE, Inform to UCB to close
TIE breaker.
2e Ensure line voltage at UAA
3 Check that all under voltage relays are reset
4 All the outgoing feeders from UAA shall be racked in
and charged after cancellation PTW/clearance of
concerned feeder/Transformer
