8) The Foundation for Individual Rights in
Education (FIRE) will award $12,500 in
college scholarships, including $5,000 to the
student with the best essay. FIRE helps

9) Prudential Spirit of Community Award is
offering scholarships to seniors committed to
community service. Only 1 student will be
selected to represent Fletcher as their top
volunteer. Nominate yourself or a teacher
may nominate you. Please meet with your

10) FHS/PTSA is offering six $500
scholarships to seniors who are current
PTSA members. You must show financial
need and have volunteer service hours
documented. Applications are in guidance
and must be returned to Mrs. McWilliams by
March 24, 2011.
11) Ron Brown Scholar program is offering
scholarships to African American seniors
who will make significant contributions to
society. A minimum of 10 students will
receive $10,000 for four years. Application

Come to Mrs. Alexander’s desk in the
Guidance office. A clipboard with a
sign-in sheet will be provided for you to
order the scholarships of your choice.
To request the scholarship of your
choice, order by the number of the
scholarship. The scholarships will be
delivered to you by a within 48 hours.
