Strongest by Ina Wroldsen – Review

By : Fajar Sukmana

An international track which originally recorded by a Norwegian singer

Ina Wroldsen. It is written by Ina Wroldsen herself, Anthor Bringsson and Brad
Mathias Bonsaksen. The track is released on October 27th 2017 and produced by
Anthor Bringsson. The whole part of the song tells about being a strong mother to
a son whose father has left. Here are two things that need to be reviewed on this
song.

The track centers its message on the heartbreak of a lost love and moving
forward with her son. Wroldsen raised the real story of her good friend’s life into
this track. Where she has to be the strongest one to live with her son because her
husband has left. The lyric of the song which is to deep to be read and listened
made this track peaked up at number 2 popular song in Norway in 2017. This
track certainly has a similar feel to wroldsen’s previously panned track
“Rockabye” which became an international success for Clean Bandit, Anne-
Marie, and Sean Paul.

Rapid development of music genre, when 2017 is the breakthrough of

EDM music, makes lots of comoposer compete to be creative to create a mega
hits. The composer of this song put the song into EDM (Electronic Dance Music)
genre which make the beat of the song sounds more stomping. However, the
tempo and the beat which are too fast, make it does not make sense for the track
because the song totally deep in meaning.

The lyric has a deep meaning because it expresses the real life. The choice
of words is good enough to make the meaning of the track touches the listeners
right into the deepest feeling. Wroldsen wrote the lyric by getting the situation
through listening her friend’s life story -“it’s a bit hurt and bitter”. “No matter
how bad the storm - I will be strongest that he ever knew and we'll leave you
alone” these parts of the lyric show how she has to through her life with her son
without a husband, it is like a “storm”.
Ina Wroldsen totally hits this song by her own way. Inspite of using EDM
music making the beat of the song sounds more stomping, the meaning of the
song still can be felt by the listeners until touching the deepest feeling.
