Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This activity would support all learners. It can be used in multiple languages for students who are English
Language learners. I would be able to support students through videos, and readings to teach the content.
With all these representations of the materials, students who need differentiated ways of learning will be
accommodated.
Engagement: Students are able to make the timeline their own and be creative with it so they will be having
fun and be creative while doing so. Students will have watched a video and read about this topic, so they will
just have to be able to make sure they can explain their thoughts as to why they put certain things on the
timeline.
Representation: Students are able to watch a video and read about these events, so the material is
represented in different ways. Students who need the support of seeing the information presented in
different ways will have this accommodation.
Action and Expression: I will review the material again after the students create their timelines and talk about
why these events are significant. I will open a class discussion as to why they believe the events are significant
and why they chose to include them in their timeline.

Beyond-the-Basic Productivity Tools (BBPT)
Teacher will introduce United States involvement into World War II. We will have already talked about how
the war started in other countries. I will show students my technology project of a timeline of the events
before Pearl Harbor. I will teach about how the US became involved and have them read to understand the
events the United States took after joining the war. I will ask students to read and discuss events that happen
once the United States joins the war. I will have students create their own timeline using bubbl.us to make a
timeline on the events once US joins the war.

Students will be able to collaborate with a group to complete this task. Students will be able to communicate
through the process and be able to explore bubbl.us together. This will be a hands on activity for students to
search for dates to be able to put on their timeline. This will support students with disabilities by being able to
use other devices like iPad’s to be able to complete this task as well.

Reflective Practice:
I will have students present their timelines to the class and show their final projects. I will then go over the
timeline with the entire class and talk about the details of the events that happened after the United States
got involved in World War II.
