Scene 1

INT. AT THE OPERA HOUSE

(Curtain opens)

(The ballet dancers are practicing their dance; men are fixing
their wardrobes, and other girls are putting make up on their
faces.)

MADAME GIRY
Ready now, girls! We’re about to begin!

(Curtain closes)

Scene 2
(Christine Daae is facing the audience. The lights are on her
alone. On box 5, Raoul is intently staring at her with amazement
in his eyes. Madame Giry, Meg and the rest of the performers and
backstage staff were listening as she sings. Christine sings
with evident emotions on her facial expressions)

(Curtain closes)

Scene 3
(Christine is seated on the floor as Raoul approaches.)

RAOUL
(kneels down and sits beside Christine)
I thought I was listening to an angel. I recognized you through
the beauty of your voice. It awakens the memories of our
childhood.

CHRISTINE
I remember the days we used to tell stories to each other while
Father played the violin. And when I go to sleep, (song) the
Angel of Music sings songs in my head ♪♪♪♪♪

 RAOUL
The Angel of Music sings songs in my head. ♪♪♪♪♪
Let’s reminisce more as we tread our way to the garden. I’ll
wait for you outside.

CHRISTINE
(Nods with a smile)

(Raoul leaves the room)

(Christine puts her shawl and is about to leave)

ERIK
(His thundering voice surrounds the room)

Where are you going, little one? Aren’t you going to celebrate
your triumph with your teacher? Come… Come…

(Christine follows the sound of Erik’s voice. As she approaches

the mirror, Erik extends his hand and she takes it. They pass
over a tunnel with moving candle lights.)

CHRISTINE
(Looks intently at the face of the phantom)

(Leads the way to his lair)

 ACT 2
(Carlotta, Madame Giry, the ballet dancers, the backstage staff,
the managers and the audience are in chaos because of the
appearance of the Phantom of the Opera. Christine rushes towards
Raoul who is also looking for her. Everyone is running, looking
for their safety.)

RAOUL
Christine, are you alright? What’s going on?

CHRISTINE
(runs to the stairs with Raoul behind her)
Come, follow me!

(They arrive at the Opera’s rooftop. Erik is hiding behind a

post.)

CHRISTINE
(Pacing)

Raoul, I am afraid. I know the Phantom won’t let go of me. I can

feel his presence anywhere I go. It seems his eyes are always on
me.

RAOUL
(Slowly hugs Christine behind.)

I am here.

(He faces Christine, and slowly caresses Christine’s left

cheek.)

Suddenly, music can be heard.)

CHRISTINE
(looks up and murmurs)
♪♪♪♪♪

Angel or father?
Friend or phantom?
Who is it there, staring?

ERIK
♪♪♪♪♪

Have you forgotten your angel? To long you’ve wandered in

winter. Far from my far- reaching gaze

CHRISTINE
(Mesmerized)
♪♪♪♪♪

Wildly, my mind beats against you

You resist yet your soul obeys!

(Raoul approaches)

RAOUL
Christine, no!

CHRISTINE
(Back to reality)
Raoul!

RAOUL
Don’t let him take all of you!

(Raoul and Erik fight each other. Raoul wins. He and Christine
leave the furious Phantom.)

 ACT 3
Scene 1
(Christine and Erik are on stage performing Don Juan Triumphant.
Christine seems to be hypnotized as she closes her eyes and let
Erik hug her behind, with arms surrounding her. The ballet
dancers are doing romantic steps on stage with their partners.)

ERIK
♪♪♪♪♪

Say you want me with you here, beside you

Anywhere you go, let me go too
Christine, that’s all I ask of you.

CHRISTINE
(opens her eyes and faces the Phantom. She then slowly reveals
the face of the Phantom to the audience. Erik sweeps his cloak
around her and vanishes.)

Scene 2

INT. At the Phantom’s Lair

ERIK
(Looks at Christine with anger in his eyes)

Why, Christine? Why?!

CHRISTINE
♪♪♪♪♪
Angel of Music, please let go of me. I am not yours.

(Raoul’s voice can be heard.)

ERIK
♪♪♪♪♪

Are you his? You belong to me!

RAOUL
Please, let go of her! Show some compassion!

 ERIK
The world showed to compassion to me!

(He captures Raoul with a rope and puts it on his neck.)

ERIK
(Looks at Christine)
♪♪♪♪♪
Exchange his freedom with your love for me! Choose! Choose! This
is the point of no return!

RAOUL
♪♪♪♪♪
Christine, I love you! I love you!

ERIK
Make your choice!

CHRISTINE
♪♪♪♪♪

Angel of Music, you betray me. Why do you have to do this?

ERIK
I’m losing my patience. Make your choice now.
(Pulls the rope on Raoul’s neck)

CHRISTINE
♪♪♪♪♪

Pitiful creature of darkness, what kind of life have you known?

God gave me courage to show you, you are not alone. (kisses
Erik)

ERIK
(smiles and cries)
Go now. Go. Forget about me. Forget everything.

(Christine unties Raoul and leave with him.)

 Scene 3
(The Phantom looks sad as he stares at the flower he once gave
Christine. On the other side, Christine and Raoul are getting
married. Madame Giry, Meg and the rest of the people at the
Opera House are invited. )

ERIK
♪♪♪♪♪
Christine, I love you.

Priest
You may now kiss your beautiful bride.

(Christine and Raoul kiss)

(Curtain closes)

The cast altogether performs the theme song of the play, The
Phantom of the Opera.
