In simplest terms, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a sub-domain of computer sciences

that highlights the manufacturing of intelligence machines and computer-based robots that work

and think in the same way as human do. The artificial intelligence / robots are designed for; with

artificial intelligence are designed for learning, planning, problems resolving, speech

identification as well as natural language processing.

The evolution of AI can be traced to philosophy, fiction, and imagination. Initial

discoveries in the fields of electronics, engineering, and other scientific disciplines have

influenced the evolution of AI. Few of the initial milestones includes efforts in problems solving

that included elementary effort in learning, knowledge illustration, and interpretation as well as

demonstration programs in language processing, translation among different languages and

knowledge-based computer systems.

It is the beginning of twentieth century inventions in electronics and the post-World War-

II era that gave boost to the development of modern computers in Alan Turing’s laboratory in

Manchester, the United Kingdom, the Moore School at Penn and the IBM and the Bell

Laboratories. In result of their amazing calculating abilities, the computers in the 1940s were

often stated to as enormous brains.

Also, the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), founded in 1980 has

enormously extended its service to the AI community worldwide and today it is the AAAI that

facilitates its members and other AI scientists in terms of amenities and benefits.

The AI based systems/ robots are essential parts of a human life in this digital

millennium. It is vibrant that AI based systems are effective enough to minimize the human

efforts in various areas of daily life. Also, in order to carry out different activities in the

industries nowadays, many of the industries deployed artificial intelligence systems / robotics to

create different AI machine that successfully performs a variety of activities on regular basis. The

industries prefer artificial intelligence systems in order help to accomplish the tasks faster as well

as produce accurate results. Fault free and effective creations are the key purposes behind

artificial intelligence systems. In the recent past, different sectors have geared up utilizing the AI

systems in order to reduce the humanistic efforts as well as to produce effective and quicker

results.

The AI totally transformed the way medical science was supposed in the near past.

Around there are many segments in the medical sciences where AI is utilized to accomplish

unbelievable outcomes. With the deployment of AI based systems, the medical sciences were

even able to make a virtual personal health care assistant that act and behave identically to a

physician in diagnosing and advise. AI systems/ robotics are also being used for the research and

investigation drives. Different useful healthcare robots are also introduced in the field of medical

science in order to provide continuous health care to the patients. These robots are well-versed in

responding to the frequent questions asked by the patients as well as to arrange appointments in

rapid sequence.

Air transport systems can be regarded as one of the most logical transportation systems

nowadays and it can be argued that air transport cannot persist lacking the utilization of artificial

intelligence in an efficient manner. Around there are various jobs in the air traffic machineries

and supervision processes that are being carried out by the AI e.g. booking of air travel tickets to

the airplane takeoff and flights operation that are controlled by AI systems. It can be said that AI

systems revamped air transport well-organized, fast, harmless, and offers an easy journey to the

travelers worldwide.

Unfortunately, the AI systems/ robots are not universally available and is limited to a

specific segment of the world’s population mainly to the developed countries. However, some of

the developing countries-initiated research and set up research labs in order to start using the

amazing services being offered by AI/ robots.

There is a huge impact of AI on the society. AI systems are emerging rapidly with

numerous possible advantages and impacts for markets, societies and individuals.

Across different sectors, AI based system propose the potential of enhancing productivity

as well as making novel products and facilities. The AI based technologies are currently being

applied in different sectors such as health, online shopping, manufacturing, online gaming. It is

important to note that there are substantial possibilities for additional uptake e.g. in medicines,

education, and engineering.

Intelligent digital assistants like Siri, Google Voice Prediction uses voice recognition to

carry out a variety of tasks. The AI technologies in education sector assisting personalized

learning management systems. In the healthcare industry, AI is comping up with brand new

diagnostic tools as well as decision support systems in order to enhance the productivity of the

medical professionals. The aforementioned are the core segments of the society being impacted

by the AI.

In the future, AI systems/ robots will influence every sector of the daily in some way or

other. PwC research predicts a comparatively low dislocation of jobs during the first phase of

computerization, but this can further theatrically rise up to 40% by the mid-2030’s. Different

occupations within the industry can be possibly be at a higher risk, however, occupations that

require social, sensitive and fictitious capabilities will be at a lower risk of displacement.
