What does Nyx do and what does he bring?

Nyx is the only physical damage wizard in King’s Raid. He is a main dealer that excels in
AoE situations. In addition, he provides some CC and dispel. Unfortunately, he does require a lot
of investment for him to shine: T5 and a higher end awakened unique weapon.

The unique weapon effect allows Nyx to already start dishing out damage to multiple
targets before he is able to build up blade stacks (this will be explained later). Unfortunately, his
auto attack damage was nerfed a few patches ago, which hurts his DPS overall and requires
higher stars to compensate for that nerf. This is especially true in arena, where you need at least a
3 star UW for Nyx to be effective.
Skills
Nyx’s 1st skill Dimension Blade enables him to build stacks of a mechanic known as
Blade. As you see in this skill’s description and in his other skills, Blade enables Nyx to hit more
targets with his skills. In PvE content, you can use this to build or maintain Blade stacks (for
example, if you built up 1 Blade stack with your first usage of this skill, your 2nd use will allow
you to gain 2 more stacks because the 1 stack you had previously allows you to hit one additional
target therefore giving 2 Blade stacks, leaving you with a total of 3 Blade stacks.) In arena, it is
ill-advised to open with this skill simply because it has too long of a cast time for the fast-paced
nature of arena fights.

Dimension Cleaver is a dispel and a knockdown in one skill. It enables Nyx in Gushnak
in Guild Raid, where dispels are needed for his blood rage stacks.

Nyx’s 3rd skill is similar to his 2nd skill in that they both knockdown hit enemies. While
his S2 carries a dispel, this 3rd skill does significantly more damage. Expect to see a big spike in
Nyx’s dps meter when he casts this skill in AoE situations such as the whelpling phase in Black
Dragon raids.

In addition to Nyx’s UW effect, his S4 allows him to deal consistent damage by simply
auto attacking with built up Blade stacks. Therefore, I recommend maxing this skill’s attributes
first.

Skillbook Order
4-3-2-1
After maxing Nyx’s S4, I prioritize maxing his S3 because of the insane burst damage it
does when it is used with 5 blade stacks, then max his S2. Max out his S1 last because it is
mainly used to build up Blade stacks rather than a source of damage.

Transcendence Perks
Scroll down to the bottom of this section for a picture of the perk build.
T1- As with any other dps character, take the attack up and hp up perks.
T2- Circuit burst increases your damage by 40% and gives 200 accuracy which gives him some
leverage against heroes in arena with dodge. None of the other perks here benefit him. He is not
a mana-dependent dps hero therefore he does not need blessing of mana.
T3/T4- The only perk you need to take here is Hidden Blade Light. It synergizes with his UW
effect, allowing him to be more efficient with his auto attacks. None of his active skill perks are
necessary since he is not reliant on them to do high numbers and none of the perks are amazing
anyways.
T5- Take both light and dark perks. The extra stats and additional crit damage is nice and
because we do not really invest much into any of the T3/T4 perks, this is the only other good
perk to take besides his T5 dark perk. Nyx’s T5 dark perk is what allows him to shine and is why
the T5 investment is necessary for him. Being able to gain blade stacks from auto attacking is
invaluable to his strength in arena where the fast nature of fights does not allow him to build up
Blade stacks using S1 because of its very slow animation. In addition, he gains 10% additional
attack for every Blade stack he holds. In arena, gaining 1 or 2 stacks from auto attacking puts
him in a greater position to wipe fragile backline heroes with his piercing attacks with this buff.
For PvE content, he is guaranteed to have 5 blade stacks, meaning that he constantly has a 50%
attack increase in addition to the attack bonuses from his other perks make him a monster when
it comes to clearing multiple adds.

Gear Options
Runes: 3x Attack, Crit Damage and Crit for armors.
Stat Lines: The standard 4 lines you want on every dps hero: Attack, Attack Speed, Crit and Crit
Damage. If you really want penetration or lifesteal try to get them through dragon scroll
enchants.
Gear: I personally run full BD set on him but you can either go half/half with BD/FD or full RD
depending on your crit needs. With perfect lines, runes and T2 priest perk, you should be close to
maxing out on crit chance.
Accessory: Use a ring for arena, earrings for everywhere else.
Artifacts: The go to arena artifact for Nyx is Golden Cat Statue. The attack speed is invaluable
for him and most other dps heroes in arena to dish out damage faster. Additionally for Nyx, more
attacks allows for more chances to gain a Blade stack with his T5 dark perk.
Outside of arena the Trident of the Deep artifact that can be bought with world boss tokens is
extremely valuable because Nyx can easily stack 100 instances of damage because his attacks
will constantly hit multiple enemies. If you are not willing to spending your world boss currency
on trident, alternatives include Drinking Horn of Ancient Cow and Fancy Fortune Pocket.

Nyx in Arena
My credentials: I’ve been climbing to Master 3 every week ever since I started to take
arena seriously (this will probably change now that Demia and Scarlet have been nerfed).
How to control Nyx in arena: For the most part he does not need any manual control.
You should leave him to auto attack and hopefully he gets T5 dark procs to gain Blade stacks
and kills their backline in the process. If you have enough mana to use his other skills only do so
if the CC is needed and you have multiple blade stacks.
Heroes that Nyx hates: Heroes that can jump to the backline and kill Nyx such as
Tanya, Epis, Fluss and Demia’s S3 are problems. In addition, Demia’s S4 provides physical
defense and block to her team allowing them to survive his burst. She is a staple in many wall
decks that seek to outsustain your damage and it is almost impossible to deal with unless you
have at least a 4 star UW and very good enchants on your gear. Thankfully with the most recent
nerfs to Demia, she is being seen less in arena. Other heroes that are annoying to deal with are
dodge warriors such as Kasel and Nalia that can dive and focus him while avoiding his damage.
Another hero to mention is Mediana if she is ran with a combination of these aforementioned
heroes because like Demia, she also provides damage mitigation through her S4 giving physical
crit resist and she is also able to prevent her main dealer from dying with her S3 provided you do
not have enough blade stacks to hit with your S2 or you do not have a more dispel off cooldown.
Heroes that Nyx loves to be with: There is a very good reddit post that explains the
popular Nyx-Baudouin deck, how it works and how to counterplay it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kings_Raid/comments/7yyaco/nyxbau_users_hate_this_guy/
Besides Baudouin, you can fit Nyx in with the arena staples, such as Leo, Cassandra, Ricardo,
Scarlet, and Maria. Generally speaking, you want heroes that protect Nyx, whether it is done by
providing immunity in the case of Bau, CCing the enemy team, or having cleanse to counteract
enemy CC.
The arena deck I used to run before the recent patch to climb to Master 3 was
Demia/Scarlet/Nyx/Rephy. Demia allowed me to pull assassins away from my backline, while
also providing more survivability with her S4. Scarlet used to be able to provide additional CC
with her S2 dark perk, stunning everyone for 1.5 seconds if Demia’s CC was not enough. In
addition it cleanses and dispels but that is already a well known fact. The reason I used Rephy is
because I don’t have arena healers raised. But he does provide another cleanse which allowed me
to save Scarlet’s S2 for a better opportunity. Otherwise I would have used Bau instead of Rephy
if I raised him.
Right now I am still in a testing phase as to what will work for me. I’ve been running
Scarlet/Pavel/Nyx/Rephy and have somehow managed to stay in Master 3 this week. Looking
forward, I plan on building towards either a Nyx-Bau deck with wall decks becoming less
popular due to the nerfs to Demia and Scarlet.

Nyx Outside of Arena

As you can obviously tell, Nyx’s main prowess is in the arena and he is most used there.
There is not much to be said about him outside of it, but the things I think are important will be
listed here:
● Nyx’s speciality in AoE damage allows you to clear Tower of Challenge easily. Having
him enables you to do Floor 61, which is a wall to some players who do not have the
adequate dps to kill the slimes that spawn.
● He is a decent addition in Black Dragon raids, providing CC while quickly wiping the
floor during the whelpling phase and doing decent damage to the dragon itself. I would
not recommend using him if you are doing higher level dragons simply because there are
better heroes such as Yanne and Roi. Being a wizard with circuit burst, his survivability
makes him a liability as he can die to the lightning strikes in levels past 79. To make up
for this heroes such as Laias, Rephy or Ricardo are In addition, his CC skills displace the
whelplings which can force your party into a compromising position when the dragon
lands.
