A very good morning to our beloved Principal, Senior Assistants, respectable teachers and all my

colleagues. This morning, I am very honoured to be given the opportunity to deliver a very important

and meaningful speech entitled, "Tips to use social media responsibly. I hope you all can jot down the

tips that I am going to deliver.

Everybody knows that having a personal account on social media is exciting. Some go ahead and

post about their personal matters, family matters and others. However you have to think deeply and

carefully on what you post in the social media. The postings will affect you and your other family

members and friends. On top of that, if you are not sure or feeling doubtful about the postings, you

may get a second opinion through consultation with your other friends and family members.

My dear colleagues,

In order to be safe, I would advice you to limit your online friends and followers. This is because when

you have a larger network of friends and followers, it is difficult for you to control. Hence, the greater

the chance for the things to go wrong. Besides, you must understand that these social networks are

not for you to contest to accumulate friends. So stay safe and have full control on your friends and

followers.

Last but not least, social media can make it almost effortless to stay in touch with friends and family.

But you have to double check privacy settings every time you post something such as sharing your

location with someone else on social media. It will be no good if strangers know where and what are

you up to. Apart from that, you have to set everything on your social media to the most private

settings available.

Dear friends, we have learnt and know how dangerous social media can be. As social media users,

we have to be smart and responsible to manage our social media accounts. When there are bad

things happened, then there is nothing that we can do. Like the saying goes, live to regret and face

all the consequences.
